After a weekend where they participated in the Caf Champions League last weekend, log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns shift their attention to the DStv Premiership against Baroka FC on Wednesday. If they get all the three points against unpredictable Baroka, they will open a five point lead at the top of the table over second-placed SuperSport United. Kaizer Chiefs, who had their Champions League match against Wydad Casablanca of Morocco postponed at the weekend, also return to league action when they host high flying AmaZulu. Sundowns are not going to have it easy against unpredictable Baroka while Chiefs will have to be at their best to get something from AmaZulu who have improved tremendously under coach Benni McCarthy.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Baroka

Date: Wednesday, 17 February 2021

The main motivation for the Brazilians will be to increase their lead at the top of the log and at the same time register their third successive win in the league. Three points for Sundowns will see them pull away from second-placed SuperSport United who narrowly beat Cape Town City 2-1 at the weekend. On the other hand, inconsistent Baroka will be looking to return back to winning ways after two successive draws with Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City and force their way into the top eight bracket on the log standings. Sundowns will be favourites to walk away with the three points as they are unbeaten at home in their last five matches.

Kaizer Chiefs vs AmaZulu

Date: Wednesday, 17 February 2021

Kaizer Chiefs go into this clash sitting outside the top eight positions on the log after a recent run of inconsistent results. Worryingly for coach Gavin Hunt is that they have not won in their last three league matches. In the last few matches, Amakhosi have managed two draws and one loss and that has left coach Hunt under renewed pressure as they are 15 points adrift of log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. Against AmaZulu, they are up against a team in form having won three and drawn of their last five matches. Chiefs will be happy to note that AmaZulu are not good travelers as they have won only one of their last five matches on the road. It’s a tough one to call this one but Chiefs will be slight favourites as they are at home.
