Figueiredo Looking For Another Title Defence

Figueiredo has been one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC since arriving at the company back in 2017. There is no doubting his ability inside the octagon, as he has won 19 of his 20 professional fights. The only defeat that he suffered came back in 2019, when he lost by decision against Jussier Formiga. Since that defeat, Figueiredo has entered the flyweight division, as has immediately excelled. However, it wasn’t without its trouble. Figueiredo had his first scheduled flyweight title opportunity in February 2020, but wasn’t able to win the title after he missed weight.

He still won the fight against Joseph Benavidez by TKO in the second round. Figueiredo was granted a rematch five months later with the title once again on the line. He made no mistake in that re-match, as he dispatched of his opponent in the first round by technical submission. It was a stunning display by the 32-year-old and saw him awarded with the Performance of the Night award. His prowess at finishing opponents early is staggering, as he has knocked out nine opponents and won by submission on seven occasions. It is no surprise that he is seen as the 0.33 favourite with BetXChange.

Perez Hoping To Upset Odds

Alex Perez will be the heavy outsider in the betting for this fight, as he is currently valued at 2.22 with BetXChange. Perez has won 24 of his 29 professional fights, but the lion share of his wins have come by decision. He has won 12 fights by decision, with the most recent of those coming in 2019 against Mark De La Rosa. Perez has been in excellent form this year, as he has won both of his fights. He has won the Performance of the Night award in both of these fights too.

His first win this calendar year came against Jordan Espinosa, as he beat his opponent using a arm-triangle choke in the first round. That success was followed up with another huge win less than six months latest, as he brutally knocked out Jussier Formiga in the first round at UFC 250. There is no doubt that Perez has the ability to cause an upset in this fight, but the first round could be crucial for both fighters.

Deiveson Figueiredo vs Alex Perez Prediction

This should be a thrilling fight between these two stars that have both been in excellent condition this year. Both fighters come into this having won in the opening rounds of their last two fights. However, it is hard to see past the current champion regaining the title. But, it will likely go past the first round.

Pick: Deiveson Figueiredo at 0.33 with BetXChange.
