Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane will meet in the headliner of the UFC 265 this Saturday night. This is the match for the interim heavyweight title, and the winner of this one will proceed to meet with Francis Ngannou, who earned the belt against Stipe Miocic, in the second match of their rivalry. At the moment, Gane is a big favorite, but knowing Lewis, that doesn’t have to mean anything. BetXchange is bringing a preview filled with interesting facts, so stay tuned for the next three or four minutes.

Preview

Lewis or the Black Beast, as the fans call him, is one of the most ferocious punchers in the UFC. His KO power is equal to Ngannou’s, and even though he isn’t versatile as some of his other rivals, the American is in the elite echelon of the heavyweight division.

Besides Miocic, he is the only one who defeated Ngannou via UD, in one of the most boring headliners of all time in the UFC. He also holds wins over Curtis Blaydes, Alexander Volkov, Marcin Tybura, Ilir Latifi, etc. The last one was against Blaydes, and before that match, he defeated Aleksei Oleinik, Latifi, and Blagoy Ivanov, not being super-convincing.

Lewis suffered two failures in a row prior to this four-contest winning streak. Daniel Cormier defeated him in the UFC heavyweight title match, and after that, Junior do Santos also inflicted a loss to the American.

We don’t need to explain too much about Lewis’ style of fight. He isn’t a wrestler, nor is he fast enough, and all of his technical attributes are very limited. But the punching power of the Black Beast covers up all that.

Gane is the former training partner of the reigning champ, Ngannou. Coming from France, these two had a lot in common, and they used to spare for some time, which would be a massive plus for Gane if he manages to reach the title bout against Ngannou.

Bon Gamin, which is Gane’s nickname, has nine wins in the pro-MMA career, without a single loss. The method of victory was evenly diverse, three submissions, KOs, and decisions. Now, this is only proof that Gane has various ways of earning a win in the octagon. The French was tested properly in the last few bouts. He had to beat Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Junior dos Santos and at last Alexander Volkov to earn a chance to fight for the interim belt and the title.

He is not an attractive fighter, and you won’t see too many highlight reels when Gane appears in the octagon. Instead, each step he makes inside the cage is well calculated, and his tactics are impeccable. Apparently, Gane has excellent coaches who are doing incredibly good scouting reports, and after that, create a game plan according to which Bon Gamin behaves.

Lewis vs. Gane Prediction and Pick

It’s no wonder why Gane stands as a massive favorite. The French fighter has everything needed to beat the former title challenger, starting with power and speed, and ending with perfect tactics that will help him avoid all the risky situations in the octagon.

We are strongly recommending betting on Gane’s win, which currently stands at 0.29 at BetXchange.
