The race for the semi-final spots of Varsity Cup continues unabated on Friday with round 6 of the competition and University of Cape Town (Ikeys) sitting on top of the pile after an impressive run of five wins out of five starts.

As a result of their good run of form, Ikeys are the only team yet to suffer defeat in the competitions but that record will be seriously threatened by improving University of Pretoria (Tuks) in their anticipated top of the table clash.

Tuks have shown some signs of improvements over the last three matches to move to second spot on the log standings and move away from Stellenbosch University (Maties) Central University of Technology (Ixias).

Central University of Technology (Ixias) vs Stellenbosch (Maties)

Maties will once again look to the brilliance of their passionate captain David Brits who was one of the standout performers for them in their last match against North West University (Pukke) where he got them to a good start with an early penalty.

On the other hand, Maties have ambitions of their own as victory can move them a few places up on the ladder.
