The quest for some silverware continues for the eight remaining teams in the Nedbank Cup which is guaranteed to have at least one two team from the GladAfrica Championship in the next round. The match of the round is definitely a match-up between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates which has been billed as the final before the final.
Chippa United VS Richards Bay
Chippa United have not been doing well in the DStv Premiership recently with no win in their last five outings but they may have enough in the tank to overcome Richards Bay. Chippa players will want to use this match as a way of restarting their campaign but it is not going to be easy against a team that memorably booted Kaizer Chiefs out of this competition and are top of the GladAfrica Championship. This one may go either way but we go with Chippa to progress to the next round.
Cape Town All Stars VS Pretoria Callies
This is the only match of this round that has pitted two teams who competes in the GladAfrica Championship with Pretoria Callies slight favourites over All Stars because of their log standings. Callies are among the early pacesetters in their league and they are currently sitting on fifth spot on the log at the half way state of the season. On the other hand, All Stars are placed eight on the log and they are seven points from log-leaders Ricahrds Bay. Another tough one to call but we go with All Stars to use home ground advantage and sneak to the next round.
Black Leopards VS Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM)
This match can better be described as a battle of the DStv Premiership strugglers. Things have not gone according to plan for these two Limpopo teams as they have been sitting dangerously at the bottom half of the table since the start of the season. It is actually a surprise that they have managed to get this far in this tournament given their struggles in the league. Leopards, who are bottom of the log standings, are slight favourites to get a morale boosting home win and progress.
