The derby of Serie A is scheduled for tonight at San Siro. AC Milan awaits Juventus, in what is the most attractive game fo the round. These two sides are in the best shape in this competition (along with Atalanta), and both have their expectations from Tuesday’s event. Juve wants to keep on winning in order to maintain the difference between them and Lazio in the standings, while on the other side, AC Milan aims to reach a place that leads to the Europa League.

Preview

AC Milan didn’t lose since the restart began, with the note that they already played with Juve during that time. It was a rematch of the Coppa Italia semis, which ended without goals. Most recently, Stefano Pioli’s side was better than Lazio, who is Juventus’ main title contender. Rossoneri did one massive favor to their next opponent by beating the Eagles in Rome 0-3 and allowing Sarri’s boys to get away to an eight-point distance.

It is something which might even decide the entire Serie A championship race, and brings another trophy to Juve’s collection.

Interestingly, just one of five games since the restart, Milan played at home. Overall, the seven-time European champions have three wins and two draws, and they managed to keep clean sheets on three occasions. They have Ibrahimovic back now, which is a massive boost for not only the team but the overall organization, because the Swedish legend has a unique aura surrounding him. He would score a goal immediately on his return against Lazio.

Juventus lost the finals of Coppa Italia and ever since, they have been avenging that defeat. The Old Lady has four wins in a row, with the latest three coming with them netting at least three goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo netted each time in those four matches, with the Portuguese showing that his form didn’t drop for one bit during the COVID-19 hiatus.

Juve’s deadliest weapon is not defense as in the previous years, but quite the opposite, its attack, which often demolishes the rivals. And how it wouldn’t be like that once you have Cristiano upfront.

What is problematic for the team from Turin is the absence of several starters, among which Dybala, Chiellini, Khedira, and De Ligt.

Head to Head Record

In 174 Serie A clashes, Juventus has a better record than their rivals. The Old Lady won 67 times, lost 49, while 57 matches ended with a draw. From three games played this season, two finished without winners, and one ended in Juve’s favor.

The two draws were in Coppa Italia, where Juventus eliminated Milan with a lot of luck. At first, they would play 1-1 in Milan, where Ronaldo equalized from a penalty in the last moments of the match, and after that, we saw a goalless draw in the rematch, which took place following COVID-19 pause.

Back in November, Juventus beat Milan 1-0 in Seria A clash. The only scorer was Dybala in the 77th minute. In general, Juve hasn’t lost against Milan since 2016, which is 12 straight matches.

Prediction

Both sides in this one are in excellent shape, and we expect to see a superb fight at San Siro. Not only that, and as we already mentioned, the stakes are high for both Milan and Juve, as they have to win this one in order to proceed towards their missions. Due to all this, our choice here would be both teams to score, with the current odds at BetXChange at 0.70. Offenses are looking pretty good and despite the fact that their defensive sides post solid performances, we will give an edge to the strikers in this situation.
