Tottenham Hotspur have ended their interest in the Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes. The Portugal midfielder had appeared to be favouring a move to Spurs over other potential suitors on the continent.

The central midfielder impressed throughout the Premier League last season while on-loan at Everton; where he made 25 appearances. The Goodison club was adamant that they were interested in making his loan move permanent but were priced out of the move by Barcelona’s valuation of between £25m and £35m.

The 25-year-old was subject to an £18m transfer bid from West Ham two weeks ago, but the Catalonian club was quick to reject the move. West Ham have expressed their interest in the player and will continue to monitor his situation.

However, they will now face no competition from European finalists Spurs. The news broke on the eve of the Champions League final, where Spurs are the 3.35 outsiders with BetXChange to beat Liverpool.

It wasn’t the only bad news for Spurs’ fans, as Aston Villa’s playoff hero Jack Grealish has admitted that he reject any approach from Mauricio Pochettino’s side this summer.
