UFC Preview

This will be the first time that Max Holloway has stepped inside the octagon since July last year. The last time that he was involved in a UFC bout was the second of his two fights against Alexander Volkanovski. Holloway lost both of those bouts for the featherweight championship, with the most recent defeat being a contention split decision awarded to the current champion. The 29-year-old has won just once in his last four fights. That win came against Frankie Edgar at UFC 240. All four of his most recent fights have gone to the judges’ scorecards.

However, he is still ranked as the number one fighter in the featherweight rankings by the UFC. During his career, he has won 21 of his 27 professional fights, with 18 of those wins coming in the UFC. His biggest victories to date have both come against Jose Aldo, who he beat by TKO on two separate occasions. The first of the fights saw him win the featherweight championship. Holloway has already promised fans a memorable night at Fight Island, but his opponent may have something to say about that.

Kattar is currently ranked as the sixth-best fighter in the featherweight rankings, and has won 22 of his 26 professional bouts. Eleven of his wins have come by knockout, while he has won by decision on nine further occasions. The majority of his defeat have come by decision. BetXChange currently have Kattar as the outsider to win this featherweight contest, as he is priced at 1.28.

However, his recent form in the octagon has been devastating. He beat Jeremy Stephens by KO in May 2020, before winning for a second fight in a row in his most recent bout against Dan Ige. Kattar won that recent bout by decision after a captivating fight to headline the UFC on ESPN card. A win for Kattar will be huge in Abu Dhabi, as it could set up a massive title opportunity for the featherweight gold later in the year.

Max Holloway vs Calvin Kattar Picks

There is every indication that this bout will go the distance, as the fighters have gone the distance in a combined total of 26 fights during their career. However, we are expecting Holloway to live up to his promise and deliver a stunning display on Saturday night to demonstrate that he is one of the best in the featherweight division.

Pick: Max Holloway at 0.61 with BetXChange.
