2023 French Open Bet Preview
Venue: Roland Garros, Paris
Date(s): 21st May – 4th June
The second Grand Slam of the 2023 season is on the horizon once more in Paris, with the French Open on hand to conclude the clay court season. Defending men’s champion and ‘king’ of Roland Garros Rafael Nadal has made the pre-tournament headlines, with his absence in Paris filling column inches, whilst women’s world number one Iga Swiatek has injury question marks clinging over her too – giving the tournament a very open look this year.

Women’s Singles
With a major title on the line, it promises to be an intense fortnight of tennis in Paris:
Iga Swiatek – 9/10 – Undisputed world number one Iga Swiatek has been too good for all in front of her once again this season and provided she can stay fit, she will be the person to beat again at Roland Garros this year.
Aryna Sabalenka – 5/1 – Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka has enjoyed a superb 2023 and she will be in contention from the outset here. She isn’t a lover of clay courts but her all round game should give her a decent shot at a second consecutive Grand Slam title.
Elena Rybakina – 9/1 – Having lost out in the final of the Australian Open earlier this year, Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina is forging a reputation for raising her game in the biggest events and she is currently in fine form too.
Cori Gauff – 14/1 – 2022 finalist Cori Gauff continues to come of age on the WTA Tour and the American looks set to break her Grand Slam duck sooner rather than later.
Paula Badosa – 20/1 – Spaniard Paula Badosa has been inconsistent over the past few seasons, but she is a precocious talent who looks set to challenge at the top table of women’s tennis for many years to come.
Ons Jabeur – 25/1 – Tunisian Ons Jabeur hasn’t been at the top of her game this season, but she will be hoping to find form at Roland Garros here. Her near misses in Grand Slams should serve as inspiration here on the clay in Paris.

Men’s Singles
Carlos Alcaraz – 6/4 – Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is working his way back to full fitness following an injury setback at the start of the year and he will be the man to beat here, with Rafael Nadal absent.
Novak Djokovic – 15/8 – Two-time French Open champion Novak Djokovic is always a tough man to beat in any event he plays, and the Serb will thoroughly enjoy upsetting the draw here if possible.
Holger Rune – 8/1 – Young Norwegian Holger Rune is really starting to come of age on the ATP Tour and a good run here at the French Open would see his burgeoning stock increase even more.
Stefanos Tsitsipas – 9/1 – Having lost out in the final of the Australian Open earlier this year and the French Open final back in 2021, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be eager to show that 2023 could well be his year in Paris.
Jannik Sinner – 14/1 – Italian Jannik Sinner continues to knock at the door at the biggest events on the ATP Tour and he loves clay, making him a serious threat here in Paris over the next fortnight.
Daniil Medvedev – 20/1 – Daniil Medvedev has been inconsistent on clay in recent times but his run to the Italian Open semi-finals could be the catalyst for a strong showing here in Paris.
