Big Fight Preview
The fight between Vieira and Tate will rightfully serve as the main event this weekend, as Tate makes her second appearance in the octagon following her return from retirement. She was very impressive on her return to the company earlier in the year, recording her second victory in MMA by TKO. She finished Marion Reneau in the third round of their contest in Las Vegas, and there was an immediate sense that she wasn’t yet done in the UFC.
Tate retired from the sport following defeat against Raquel Pennington at UFC 205 in November 2016, which was the second straight defeat that was inflicted on her. However, there is no denying that she is one of the true tail-blazers in the sport’s history. She has been involved in three title fights throughout her career, with her biggest success coming at UFC 196 when she won the Women’s Bantamweight Championship from Holly Holm via technical decision.
She latest lost the title against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 by submission in the first round. The seven career defeats on her record will certainly give Vieira hope that she can get the win here, but the odds at BetXchange indicate that it is a fight that could go either way.
Ketlen Vieira has an excellent record in MMA, having lost just twice in 13 professional bouts. She was beaten earlier this year by unanimous decision against Yana Kunitskaya, which was also her second defeat in three fights. Vieira was also beaten by Irene Aldaria at UFC 245, which was the only time that she had lost include the distance.
Vieira’s last win came at UFC 253, as she beat Sijara Eubanks by unanimous decision in Abu Dhabi. This will be her eighth fight under the UFC banner, and she will be looking for a sixth victory. Previous wins in the UFC have come against Ashlee Evans-Smith, Sara McMann and Cat Zingano. However, she did hold both the Big Way Bantamweight and Mr Cage Bantamweight championships earlier in her career.
Odds For The Fight
The BetXchange odds for the fight between Vieira and Tate are very close. Vieira is the very narrow favourite at present, as she is priced at 8/10. Meanwhile, Tate is the bigger of the two fighters at 19/20.
Vieira vs Tate Prediction
The odds only highlight how close this fight will be on Saturday evening. However, we will be siding with Tate, who can use all her experience inside the octagon to her advantage this weekend. It will go the distance, but we can see Tate winning for the second time since returning from retirement.
