Betting Preview
Outright Winner
The field at the Waste Management Open is particularly strong with many talents from the USA and further afield keen to get their hands on the trophy come Sunday:
Spaniard Jon Rahm continues to blaze a trail on both the European and PGA Tours and he seems to be well in the mix in every event he plays at the moment.
Justin Thomas looks well placed to challenge once more here in Phoenix, despite not displaying his best golf thus far in 2022.
Two-time champion at this event Hideki Matsuyama loves playing here in Arizona, and he looks good value to challenge once again this year.
Norwegian Viktor Hovland continues to impress on a weekly basis on the PGA Tour and with his win column also growing, he looks to be a serious contender for years to come.
2020 champion Webb Simpson always plays good solid golf, and he will be relishing the opportunity to pick up some much needed ranking points and prize money here.
1st Round Leader
The TPC Scottsdale can be unforgiving for all levels of player and getting off to a good start could be the catalyst to an excellent week:
World number 8 Xander Schauffele is notorious for getting off to good starts and whilst he hasn’t kicked on as yet in 2022, he will relish conditions here at TPC Scottsdale.
American Max Homa is starting to put consistent results together on the PGA Tour and he should arrive full of confidence in Arizona after some strong showings in recent weeks.
Top 10 Finish
With so many quality players assembled here in Arizona, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:
2020 Phoenix Open runner up Tony Finau is a man in seriously good nick on the PGA Tour currently and he is always a good value punt to be in the mix come Sunday afternoons.
Two-time winner of this event and defending champion Brooks Koepka is only lacking consistency from his game currently and if he gets going, he could be seriously tough to stop this week.
A former winner and runner up at this event, Rickie Fowler thrives off the atmosphere at TPC Scottsdale and how he would cherish a top 4 finish this weekend.
