ATP Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships – Dubai, UAE
Date(s): 22nd – 28th February 2022
Draw Preview
The return of Novak Djokovic is the talk of the town in Dubai, as the Serbian world number 1 plays his first event on the ATP Tour since his vaccine episode in Australia. He is once again the man to beat in Dubai, an event he has played some excellent tennis in historically and his draw looks favourable – particularly in the absence of Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev in the draw. Djokovic is a 5-time winner of the event, which first launched on the ATP Tour back in 1993 and is now established as one of the biggest ATP 500 tournaments played on the calendar, with nearly $3 million in the prize pot.
ATP Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Outright Betting
With some of the best players in the world in action, it promises to be a week of high-quality tennis in Dubai.
Here are some our tips for the title in Dubai this week:
Novak Djokovic – 1/2 – The circus surrounding Novak Djokovic shows no signs of slowing, with the Serb garnering attention everywhere he goes. He has won this event on 5 previous occasions and clearly enjoys playing conditions in Dubai. As the top seed, he is always the man to beat in any event he plays and with plenty of time to prepare for this one, he could be very tough to beat.
Jannik Sinner – 5/1 – Young Italian Jannik Sinner is rapidly emerging as one of the brightest prospects on the ATP Tour and his run to the last 8 of the Australian Open last month was justification of that. With a game made for all surfaces, Sinner should adapt well to conditions here in Dubai and looks good value to go deep this week.
Andrey Rublev – 6/1 – Russian Andrey Rublev has been one of the most consistent performers on the ATP Tour in recent seasons and has broken into the top 10 in the world as a result. He is a former US Open semi-finalist and with hard courts being his favoured surface, he could be one to watch this week.
Aslan Karatsev – 10/1 – Defending champion and another Russian sure to be in the mix is Aslan Karatsev, who enjoyed one of this biggest career wins to date here in Dubai. His supreme power from the back of the court makes him very difficult to deal with and with confidence sure to be high every time he steps on to court, he could be a tough man to stop this week.
Denis Shapovalov – 14/1 – Canadian Denis Shapovalov is really starting to come of age on the ATP Tour and he relishes the battle in every match he plays. Hard court is slowly becoming his favoured surface too and as the 6th seed here in Dubai this week, his ranking could give him some much appreciated protection as he makes his way through the draw.
Karen Khachanov – 20/1 – Big hitting Russian Karen Khachanov took out some big names on his way to an Olympic silver medal in Tokyo last year and on a court type that will definitely suit his playing style, he looks over priced in Dubai this week.
Top Pick – Novak Djokovic –1/2
Outside Pick – Andrey Rublev – 6/1
