We are about one-third of the way through the 2025 IPL season. This makes it an excellent time to see how the 10 franchises have done so far and look ahead to the matches this weekend.

The IPL is a sprint, so teams that have started slowly will have to turn things around quickly to make a push for the four playoff spots.

2025 IPL Season So Far

The Dehli Capitals have been the class of the 2025 IL so far. They are the only undefeated team in the comp, sitting on eight points and winning all four matches. They sit second on the log behind the Gujarat Titans on Net Run Rate. The Titans have played one match more and have four wins to one defeat.

Three other teams have records with more wins than losses. Royal Challengers Bengalore, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants all have six points and are primed to make a push toward the finals.

At the other end of the table, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad all have two points. They also all have equal records, with one win and four defeats.

Lucknow Super Giants VS Gujarat Titans

Saturday, 12 April – BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium

Two franchises in good form meet in Lucknow, with the Super Giants hosting the Titans. Gujarat has reeled off four wins in a row after an opening-day defeat, while the Super Giants have won three of their last four matches.

The Titans have won four out of the five times these two teams have played. They will make it five of six on Saturday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad VS Punjab Kings

Saturday, 12 April – Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium

Sunrisers Hyderabad is propping up the table with the worst point total/net run rate combination in the IPL. They beat the Rajastan Royals in their opener, but things have fallen apart since, and they have lost four on the bounce.

Punjab Kings are fourth on six points, but they have played fewer games than everyone above them, except the Capitals. Their 18-run win over the Chennai Super Kings last time out shows they are trending in the right direction.

Both of these two post explosive starts during the powerplay. Sunrisers typically beat the Kings at this venue, but their form is a worry. I like the visitors here.

Rajasthan Royals VS Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Saturday, Sunday, 13 April – Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur

The Royals were the last team to win this season, waiting until Round 3 to beat the Super Kings by just six runs. They need a bounce back here after getting smacked by 58 runs at the hands of the Titans last time out.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru started hot, but they have lost two of their last three games. It is worth noting that those two defeats were at the hands of the top teams in the comp, going down by eight wickets to the Titans and six to the Capitals.

I like the visitors as part of an acca here.
