The Italian Open is the last major tournament before Roland Garros. The players are already creating their tactics for the French Open and making plans before traveling to Paris, but the majority of them are keeping their eye on the prize in Rome—the title.
Jannik Sinner is coming back, and that’s the main news in Italy. To be honest, his doping scandal and the fine that followed deteriorated the reputation of governing bodies, and if someone else were in his position, we are pretty sure that the sentence would be much harsher.

The tournament is entering its final stage, and we are here to cover both the ladies’ and the gents’ part of the draw. Here are some tennis odds for all you who want to bet.
WTA – Italian Open Women’s Preview
The whole crowd in Rome is cheering for Jasmine Paolini. The current No.5 in the rankings and the gold medal winner at the 2024 Paris Olympics is more than ready to attack the title. She will have a hard time in the fourth round against Jelena Ostapenko (won in Stuttgart), but the Italian looks solid so far, and we’ll see how she responds.
Of course, the top favorite is Aryna Sabalenka, who currently looks pretty dominant. She already has two Masters titles in the last two months, one in Miami and the other in Madrid, meaning that the world’s No.1 comes to Foro Italico in full speed.
However, we need to mention that Elina Svitolina might be a decent opponent. The Ukrainian won in Rouen and was in the semis of the Madrid Open. Mira Andreeva is there as well, and Coco Gauff who will have to get past Ema Raducanu. Still, of all three mentioned here, Svitolina seems to be in the best form.
Naomi Osaka reached the fourth round after plenty of problems, but the former top player is here, and she is showing signs of progress. If she manages to reach the top four, that would be a huge swing before Roland Garros.
One darkhorse could be Bianca Andreescu. She was better than Dona Vekic and Elyna Rybakina, meaning that she had to work hard to reach the fourth round, showing consistency early on in the tournament.
To summarize this, our prediction is that the champion should be decided between Sabalenka and Svitolina. Their current form is excellent, and overall, these two figure as top contenders for the win in Rome.
ATP – Italian Open Men’s Preview
Several exits have occurred at early stages in the men’s draw. Taylor Fritz, Holger rune, Ben Shelton, Tsitsipas, Rublev, Dimitrov, and so on. We don’t want to trouble you with all the names.
As stated, all eyes are on Sinner and his performances. How will he perform, will he be ready for Paris, how will he react, etc. Sinner won’t have such a tough path to the semis, unlike last year’s champion Alexander Zverev, who needs to beat Fils, Medvedev and Alcaraz in the semis to reach the finals.
Alcaraz is an enigma because we don’t know how he transforms his form for Paris. Carlitos is the guy who isn’t afraid to sacrifice one major title for a Grand Slam, and that’s why many believe that he won’t show his true face in Rome.
Meanwhile, Jack Draper looks terrific despite losing the Madrid finals. The Aussie is elevating his game to another level and is soon to become an elite player —that’s obvious.
These three or four guys are the top favorites, according to both the odds and our tipsters. Right now, we would pick the darkhorse in the company, Draper, because he looks the best when it comes to physique and endurance. Others might calculate in order to save themselves for Paris, but Draper won’t.
