There’s been plenty of trash talk between these two guys in the previous few weeks. They’re both young, hungry and full of confidence. Some heavy words fell, which only added fuel to this battle, so it’s no wonder why there is so much hype ahead of this contest.
We are ahead of a 12-round contest for the WBC super lightweight title at the Barclays Center in New York. Haney is the champion following a win over Regis Prograis. Garcia is trying to regain his reputation and his confidence following a loss to Tank Davis.
BetXchange brings a short preview of this event with odds and other information about it.

Devin Hanney vs. Ryan Garcia Preview
Devin Haney
The 25-year-old is one of the best boxers in the current era. And just to make it clear, he still has room for improvement. He has 31 fights and the same number of wins. Haney Kod 15 of this rivals, while 16 events ende following a decision.
When looking at his CV and previous rivals, one gets an idea about his quality. Two unanimous decision victories against George Kambosos Jr., one vs. Joseph Diaz Jr. and the triumph against Vasiliy Lomachenko explain everything.
There isn’t a tactical aspect in Haney’s game that isn’t at the highest possible level. He stubbornly sticks to his own plan and does not allow anything to disturb him. Apart from that, his adjusting during the match is impeccable. That’s partly because of Haney’s discipline and partly because of his corner. You won’t see him throwing any unnecessary punches nor KO a guy from one hit.
Ryan Garcia
This might be Garcia’s last chance to prove that he is more than just a hype. If he doesn’t pull out a surprise here, we are pretty sure that his reputation might be severely damaged, even though he still stands as one of the most profitable fighters in today’s sports world.
Following a painful loss to Gervonta, Davis bounced back, beating Oscar Duarte via 8th-round KO in the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Following that, we saw him trying to strike the best possible deal in terms of profits, so he had a sort of licitation between Haney and Rolando Romero regarding whom to make the deal.
Garcia’s incredible speed and punching power are superb. But we saw against Gervonta that he couldn’t compete with an equally powerful and quick opponent.
Haney vs. Garcia Preview
Garcia isn’t in good shape, and we saw that during the weigh-in. He was 3.2 pounds over 140, which caused him to forfeit $600,000 to Haney. It seems that he didn’t have a good training camp, unlike Haney, who looks more cool than his rial. That could be because of the fact that Garcia tries to cover up the situation with fiery appearances and flashy speeches.
All in all, we are picking Haney to triumph here. Even though he isn’t a powerful puncher, we think he might KO Garcia. The odds on that are more or less solid and worth trying. Check them out at BetXchange before making any bets.
