The business end of the Champions League is underway, as some of the best teams around Europe fight for valuable points to ensure qualification to the knockout stages. We will go through each group below and pick out the best bets for the fifth matchday of Champions League fixtures this week.
Group A
A battle between two giants takes place in Group A on Wednesday evening, as Manchester City host PSG. Both clubs are already on the verge of reaching the next round, and could see a draw as the best possible outcome. However, PSG won the previous clash between the two, and could be looking for a famous double.
RB Leipzig can only make the Europa League now, and they come up against Club Brugge on Wednesday. We expect the Germans to take the points and keep their hopes alive.
Pick: Manchester City and PSG to draw @ 32/10 with BetXchange
Pick: RB Leipzig @ 21/20 with BetXchange
Group B
Liverpool have already reached the next round in Group B, which means players could be rested for the game against Porto. The Portuguese side still need points to finish second, and we could see them getting the draw that they need here.
Atletico Madrid will have the pressure on this week, as they need a win to move to second. AC Milan have struggled back in the Champions League, but could still reach the knockout stages. However, we expect their challenge to come to an end with a victory for the hosts.
Pick: Liverpool and Porto to draw @ 28/10 with BetXchange
Pick: Atletico Madrid @ 15/20 with BetXchange
Group C
Ajax are safely through to the next round of the Champions League and come up against Besiktas on Wednesday. The Dutch side look good value to maintain their 100% record against a side yet to pick up a single point.
Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon meet in the other fixture in Group C, and the stakes are high. The team that claims the win will likely reach the next round, and Dortmund should have the quality despite playing away from home.
Pick: Ajax @ 11/20 with BetXchange
Pick: Dortmund @ 29/20 with BetXchange
Group D
Group D is still looking very open, but the European giants could both book their spots in the next round with wins this week. We expect both clubs to be able to achieve that success, with Real gaining revenge on Sheriff, and Inter claiming a home success against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Pick: Real Madrid @ 2/9 with BetXchange
Pick: Inter Milan @ 7/20 with BetXchange
Group E
Barcelona have a huge game in the Champions League on Tuesday. They can’t afford another defeat against Benfica, as that would put the Portuguese side on the verge of the next round. A draw could be the value pick here.
Bayern Munich have already qualified for the next stage, but they will continue their perfect record with a comfortable success against Dynamo Kyiv.
Pick: Barcelona and Benfica to draw @ 33/10 with BetXchange
Pick: Bayern Munich @ 1/4 with BetXchange
Group F
Manchester United are nearly in the next round of the competition. They need one more win to make sure. However, we can’t see anything other than a draw against Villarreal in Spain on Tuesday.
Atalanta will maintain the pressure on the top two with a win against Young Boys, and we expect them to achieve that result.
Pick: Villarreal and Manchester United to draw @ 5/2 with BetXchange
Pick: Atalanta @ 11/10 with BetXchange
Group G
Group G is the group with still everything to play for. Salzburg are the current leaders, and they travel to second-place Lille on Tuesday. A win for the visitors would be our selection here, as they continue an impressive campaign.
Wolfsburg and Sevilla both need wins to continue their challenge for the knockout stages. However, Sevilla are yet to win in the Champions League this season. We could see that ending in Spain on Tuesday.
Pick: Salzburg @ 18/10 with BetXchange
Pick: Sevilla @ 8/10 with BetXchange
Group H
Chelsea can book their place in the next round of the Champions League on Tuesday if they can beat Juventus. The Old Lady won the game in Turin, but we expect the Blues to make their home advantage count to move to the top of the standings.
Malmo have struggled throughout the campaign and have already conceded 12 goals. Expect Zenit to add more misery on the Swedish side with a victory.
