Outright Winner
Plenty of the biggest names on the European Tour are present in Paphos meaning it should be a hotly contested week of golf:-
Englishman Andy Sullivan has won twice on the European Tour this season and he tends to enjoy the warmer climes and could be well placed to make it 3 tournament wins this campaign.
Dutchman Joost Luiten is a man searching for form on the European Tour, but he has an excellent game that could go well here in Cyprus and he has plenty of experience at this level.
Young Austrian Matthias Schwab has been trying to forge a name for himself on the PGA Tour and he should return to the European Tour full of confidence here in Cyprus.
Sam Horsfield has been pushing hard on the European Tour all season and he will be looking to add to his couple of wins this term, here at a course that should suit his game well.
Emerging Scot Connor Syme looks to have the makings of a serious contender on the European Tour and he will be looking to test himself against the best this week.
1st Round Leader
Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first round leader picks:-
Malaysian Gavin Green is one of the most consistent performers on the European Tour and he will be eager to get off to a quick start in Cyprus here.
Englishman Jordan Smith looked in good form at the BMW PGA Championship last month and he will be keen to build on that from the off here.
Experienced Englishman Matthew Southgate is a quality operator, and he should relish conditions in Cyprus, following a good showing last time out at the Scottish Championship.
Top Ten Finish
With so many quality players assembled here in Paphos, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:-
Emerging Chinese player Haotong Li is forging a strong reputation on both the European and PGA Tours and he will be keen to continue to build on his promise here.
Englishman Paul Waring showed glimpses of his best form in the Scottish Championship earlier this month and could be one to watch in a field he will fancy his chances in here.
Englishman Chris Paisley is another man that always turns up on the bigger stages and he will benefit from the conditions here in Cyprus.
