The DStv Premiership reaches the half way mark this week and the fixture list has pitted AmaZulu against Bloemfontein Celtic in Durban, and Orlando Pirates hitting the road to visit Golden Arrows as the season gains momentum. These two-round 15 matches are scheduled for Tuesday, 2 February 2021.
AmaZulu VS Bloemfontein Celtic
AmaZulu and Bloemfontein Celtic go into this clash at the Kings Park Stadium in Durban with confidence sky high after they won their last league matches. In their last match, 7th placed AmaZulu came from a goal down to beat stubborn Stellenbosch FC as coach Benni McCarthy continues to stabilize the club. On the other hand, 12th placed Celtic beat struggling Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila (TTM) 1-0 to ease pressure on coach John Maduka following a recent run of inconsistent results.
Golden Arrows VS Orlando Pirates
This is another encounter that pits two teams that will be boosted by wins in their last league matches. Arrows came out on top during the KwaZulu-Natal derby where they overcame Maritzburg United 2-1 on Saturday through goals by Lindokuhle Mtshali and Knox Mutizwa while Maritzburg responded through a goal by Thabiso Kutumela. Pirates emerged victorious in the Soweto derby after they beat bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 through goals from Thembinkosi Lorch and Siphesihle Ndlovu to move to fourth spot on the log. Chiefs pulled one back through Daniel Cardoso.
