The Bahrain F1 Grand Prix is the central event for all the Moto fans this weekend. They expect to see a massive clash at the Bahrain International Circuit. Max Verstappen managed to hit back at the McLaren duo which opened the season fast and furious, winning last weekend at Suzuka. The stake here is the momentum. Who will have it after this one? Will Max gain an even greater swing, or will McLaren turn the tide?

From what we saw, McLaren’s drivers are highly confident in Bahrain, leaving the competition in the dust during the first official training. We learned in the past that this doesn’t have to mean anything, but it is a sign we simply have to acknowledge.

Bahrain F1 Grand Prix Preview

So Verstappen managed to win in Japan, but we need more from him to declare the Dutch as the top favorite to win the race. We aren’t saying that the champ won’t win, yet in the current circumstances, McLaren looks better overall.

Both Piastri and Norris were faster than the rest of the competition during the opening practice. In some situations, Piastri looked unstoppable, and to be honest, it seemed that the Aussie had reserve in his vehicle.

He opened the season poorly, being 9th at home in Australia, but immediately after that, he bounced back. Even though many believe that Norris has a better vehicle, we aren’t sure about that claim. As for Lando, he firmly leads the way and looks very constant.

Ferrari is still struggling, and in our opinion, the tactics with Leclerc as the first driver, and they have such one, aren’t doing well. The guy from Monte Carlo is limited as well as Prancing Horse’s machine, and we can’t say that he is capable of reaching at least a podium in Bahrain. He is under pressure here because everyone expects him to deliver, particularly because he won in 2022 when he had a clear track in front of him after winning the pole.

His fourth place in the training didn’t reassure us, nor the fans and we are interested in seeing what happens next for the Monegasque. Lewis Hamilton, who won here 5 times, has better chances, if nothing else, due to his dominant past at this circuit.

We need to address Mercedes’ rise. George Russell and his teammate Kimi Antonelli were third and fifth, respectively. This is a clear sign that Mercedes has enough consistency, and we do believe they are ready to attack the podium, at least.

Bahrain F1 Grand Prix History

As stated earlier, Lewis Hamilton has five wins in Bahrain and is the most successful driver here. His last came in 2021, which was his third in a row at the moment. Sebastian Vettel posted four victories, while Fernando Alonso has three.

Max Verstappen triumphed in the previous two events in 2023 and 2024.

When it comes to the constructors, Ferrari has the most victories—7. Right behind is Mercedes, with 6, while Red Bull has 4, two with Renault, and two with Honds.

By the way, the first Bahrain Grand Prix was in 2004, when Michael Schumacher won in Ferrari.

Bahrain F1 Grand Prix Predictions

The way things are now, McLaren has a clear edge over all the other rivals. But Verstappen is here, and he knows this track very well; he has the momentum from the previous weekend.

We know that the F1 odds for our pick are low, but they are sure. Our suggestion is to bet that Max finishes on the podium because he looks pretty solid and might even win, while on the other hand, apart from McLaren, there aren’t any rivals that are faster than the champion.
