La Liga starts this weekend. We will speak a bit about this competition and the forthcoming season over the following few lines, in which we plan to say all the important things regarding the title contenders, candidates for the top goalscorer position, etc.

Trio Chasing the Title

Real is the top favorite. And how would it be when they landed Kylian Mbappe, who finally forced his transfer to Bernabeu after years of trying to escape and blackmailing PSG’s management? They have already won the European Super Cup against Atalanta, which is a good introduction to this campaign.

They also got the Brazilian sensation Endrick, but we need to say that we don’t like all this because there are too many superstars in the attack, who worked fantastic last year once they got both the La Liga and the Champions League title. This might ruin the chemistry a bit. Toni Kroos’ departure is a big hit, but Real has replacements there, and all the other areas of the team are solid.

As for Barca, they didn’t have such a successful summer. Yes, they have Lamin who is arguably the biggest talent in the world, but on the other side, there weren’t any notable additions to the roster. Apart from Dani Olmo, who will have a role in the team, there is no doubt about that.

The secret weapon that could bring Barca a trophy is the German head coach, Hansi Flick, who might implement some new ideas that have not been seen in the Spanish league before. Other than that, Barcelona is, more or less, still recovering after Messi’s departure.

The team we like and personally believe has an excellent chance of winning the title is Atletico Madrid. They’ve spent enormous money this summer, bringing world-class players who will carry the team in the years to come. Robin Le Normand is the new leader in defense, while Julian Alvarez has become the first striker. Besides that, last year’s La Liga top goalscorer Alexander Sorloth is in tow, which makes Atletico one hell of a team.

Simeone really did a wonderful job this summer, partially rebuilding the unit from top to bottom.

Top Goalscorer – Mbappe? Or Maybe Not?

The odds put Mbappe far ahead of the competition. But as said, we aren’t sure about this because there will be plenty of other stars in Real’s attack, and they aren’t willing too much to assist.

That’s why betting on Robert Lewandowski has logic, because Blaugrana’s attack will be focused on the Pole, who already worked with Flick in Bayern. We are sure that the Germans will adjust the system to Lewa.

Vinicius is third, Sorloth fourth, while Jude Bellingham sits behind. We also believe that Julian Alvarez, whose goalscoring abilities go under the radar, has a nice chance to deliver a crazy number of goals because Atletico’s playstyle perfectly suits him.

Who Goes to Segunda?

Five teams are in the mix for relegation. The top favorite is the newcomer, Leganes, while Las Palmas, Getafe, Valladolid, and Rayo Vallecano follow. La Liga is very strange here because apart from the newcomers who usually go back to Segunda, one stable top-tier team always enters problems and suddenly finds itself battling to stay in the division. Therefore, it’s very ungrateful to prognose anything.

Top Four

As stated, three teams are in the mix for the title, and that fourth spot will be very hard to reach this season because several teams are after it.

Girona lost several top players, such as Alex Garcia, Artem Dovbyk, Savio, and Couto, who are all out. On the other hand, van de Beek, Romeu, and Gil are in town, so they should have the quality to be competitive. Real Sociedad also has plenty to worry about its roster, with several players on their way out of San Sebastian, while Athletic Bilbao has the same problems. These teams are the main competitors in the top four places.

Betis, Villarreal and Celta are all behind them.
