One of the most talented strikers in the world, Luka Jovic, signed earlier today with Real Madrid. The Serbian player allegedly signed a 6-year deal with the Spanish powerhouse.
The 21-year old came from Eintracht Frankfurt who will get €60 million immediately, and extra five if certain conditions from the contract are fulfilled.
Benfica, who was Jovic’s previous club, will have 30% of that sum, because of an agreement between them and the Germans. Jovic was in Eintracht as a loaned player from 2017 until this season, and they bought him out recently for percentages and €7 million.
The Serb scored 29 goals in all competitions this season. In 32 games in Bundesliga, he had 17 hits and 6 assists, while his performances in the Europa League amazed the world. With 10 goals in 14 events, he was by far the essential player in Eintracht’s EL campaign, which ended in the semifinals.
Zinedine Zidane wanted to see Jovic in his team, because he needs a proper replacement for Kareem Benzema who is nearing the end of his career.
Jovic is the third signing of the Madridians this season. Before him, center-back Eder Militao from Porto and left-winger Rodrygo landed at Santiago Bernabeu.
This is all a part of Zidane’s reconstruction of Real Madrid, and we can expect more transfers shortly. Ferland Mendy, Lyon’s left-back, is close to signing and he might finish with the paperwork already tomorrow. Also, several respectable media in Europe are suggesting that Eden Hazard’s arrival is just a matter of days.
