The 16th edition of the Mayakoba Classic gets underway in Mexico with a strong field assembled once more in 2022. The event was the first to be played in Mexico on the PGA Tour and with a prize fund of over $7 million, it has developed into one of the biggest events on the calendar. PGA stalwarts Matt Kuchar and Pat Perez just two of the winning alumni at the event that continues to attract a stellar field from the US and beyond.

Having just been knocked off his perch at the top of the world rankings, Scottie Scheffler will be keen to put in another stellar performance here in Mexico.
Young Norwegian Viktor Hovland now looks fully at home on the PGA Tour, and he will be raring to go after a couple quiet weeks results wise in idealistic conditions here in Mexico.
Compared to 2021, Collin Morikawa has had a very quiet year, but he remains a class act and should he find form, he could be very hard to stop this weekend.
Consistency has once again been key for Tony Finau, who continues to prove his worth on the PGA Tour and with plenty of money on offer here, he could be one to watch.
Former world number one Jason Day is a man that is constantly battling to rekindle his best form but he is a supreme ball striker and he should be in the mix here in Mexico.

American Aaron Wise is a proven performer at this level and how he would love to get off to a fast start here in the Mexican sunshine.
Belgian Thomas Detry is a proven performer on the DP World Tour and how he would love to showcase his talents here on the PGA Tour.

American Billy Horschel is a quality operator on the PGA Tour and if he gets going, a top 5 finish is a very realistic prospect for him here in Mexico.
A previous winner of this event, Matt Kuchar will be hoping a return to familiar surrounds can propel him into contention on Sunday afternoon.
Justin Rose is a man struggling for form but with conditions set fair, he has more than a chance of mixing it with the big boys this week in Mexico.
