Betting Preview
Outright Winner
Plenty of PGA Tour regulars make up the field in Georgia this week with precious ranking points and prize money on offer:-
US Ryder Cup rookie Scottie Scheffler has enjoyed a superb campaign thus far and he arrives here in Georgia fresh off a second place finish at the Houston Open last week.
Two-time major winner Webb Simpson hasn’t been in fantastic form in 2021 but he is such a classy operator that he will fancy his chances in any event he plays.
Fresh off the back off a top 10 at the Houston Open last weekend, Russell Henley should be full of confidence here in Georgia.
American Harris English will be hoping to build on his strong showing on the PGA Tour this season and he will fancy his chances on a course well suited to his playing style.
Kevin Kisner won this event in 2016 and he will be looking to emulate that success here in 2021. He also finished runner up here last year and he is always in the mix in the big events.
1st Round Leader
Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first round leader picks:-
Englishman Justin Rose has no real form to go off, but he is one of the cleanest ball strikers around and he always has a low scoring round in the locker.
Few players on the PGA Tour can hit a ball as cleanly as Luke List and should he find form here in Georgia, he could be in contention from the off.
Top Ten Finish
With so many quality players assembled here in Georgia, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:-
Australian Cameron Smith has finished in the top 20 in his last 3 events and his consistency makes him a candidate in any event he plays.
Swede Alex Noren has enjoyed an improved campaign and he has found some form on the PGA Tour this season and the course in Georgia should be a good fit for him.
Brendon Todd enjoyed an incredible end to the season in 2019 and 2020 and he will be hoping for a similar performance in favourable surroundings in Georgia this week.
