This week’s UFC spectacle in Las Vegas brings a superb heavyweight fight, between two guys who are relatively new in the division, but with enormous potential. Jairzinho Rozenstruik is recognized as one of the most ferocious punchers in the division, while Cyril Gane stands for the one who is the most intelligent and versatile. Whoever comes out as a winner from Saturday’s bout, will be in the combination for the title-eliminator.

Rozenstruik +250

After losing to Francis Ngannou in a very nasty way (suffering a KO after 20 seconds), Bigi Boy bounced back to the saddle with a win over Junior dos Santos. It was a knockout that sent the former champion to the floor and stopped the fight.

But it needs to be said that until that moment, Rozenstruik did almost nothing and that all the judges scored in JDS’s favor. But that is how things work when Rozenstruik fights. We saw that against Alistair Overeem, and probably will see it in the future many times.

His striking is unreal, and everything Bigi Boy needs is one clean strike with his right hand, and the opponent is done. For example, Overeem as leading throughout the entire contest, smashing and bashing the Surinamese, but he was the one that ended up with torn lip and disorientation.

Gane -225

This guy has the potential to be the champion pretty soon. It might be a bold prediction, but the way he looks allows us to think like that. Gane is a massive, powerful, and very clever fighter, who knows lots of stuff inside the ring.

Three of his wins came via KO, three via submission, and one by decision. Gane knows how to make excellent combos that include both legs and hands, he knows how to get the rival to the floor and also how to grapple and wrestle on the canvas.

What makes him even more lethal is his patience and superb game plan. That is where his coaches have to be credited, as they taught Gane to be cool and think clearly, regardless of the situation in the ring.

Pick

Gane is the choice here, with the French probably winning on the floor via submission or some ground and pound combo. The French’s skill set is far greater than Rozenstruik, and seeing him lose this fight would be a great surprise.
