The US Grand Prix qualifiers proved one thing: Max Verstappen’s fantastic form. After winning the spring yesterday, the champion immediately sealed the pole position, beating both McLarens, and let’s say, indicating a very hot race in Austin, Texas.

Stay tuned to see our picks with predictions and F1 betting odds.

Verstappen’s Saturday Domination

The champion was the best in the sprint race, winning it and taking the pole. As a result, he’s now 55 points behind Piastri, while both the Aussie and Norris failed to finish the race.

Max’s current form is the best this year, and if he wins here, the title race will gain a third contender. McLaren wasn’t that confident during the qualifiers for today’s race, as Norris ended second, and Piastri only sixth.

There are plenty of speculations suggesting that the team is going to favor Norris in the last few races over Piastri, but for the moment, the leader in the Formula One general classifications isn’t saying anything about that. Something like that is nothing new, and we’ve seen it quite a few times in the past.

Piastri’s 6th position is his lowest this year at any start, not counting the situations when he was involved in an incident. And that’s why many suspect that his vehicle might be “neglected” compared to Norris’.

Charles Leclerc was 3rd, while the rising George Russell ended 4th, followed by another Ferrari driven by Lewis Hamilton. The Prancing Horse was solid, though; it never endangered the leading duo.

COTA F1 GP Strategy

First of all, we have to say that the majority of the teams decided to go with just one stop last year. Simply, the pit delta was too big, around some 20 seconds, and that’s why most of the drivers headed to the pit just once.

And all the top five in the final standings have used that strategy. Therefore, it is expected to have the same approach this year. Texas usually boasts very tough weather conditions, but the luck is on the fans’ side these days, as Sunday might be the coolest day in the past few. Yet, it’s still going to eclipse 30 degrees Celsius and reach at least 45 degrees on the track.

2025 F1 US Grand Prix Predictions

The American Grand Prix should be interesting, and all the racing odds suggest that. Verstappen looks like an absolute favorite, as his current form and the state of the vehicle indicate a huge edge over all the other rivals.

Some are claiming that Charles Leclerc might step out here, with the Ferrari’s star knowing what it takes to triumph. He won last year, with Carlos Sainz, another Ferrari at that time, being second. The Prancing Horse loves these types of track configurations, though it’s highly noticeable that they don’t have the consistency to compete with the top rivals.

Piastri will have to be careful and avoid taking too many risks; otherwise, he might end up with no points instead of at least some. Norris will be in a tough spot with Max ahead, Leclerc behind, and George Russell, who is a bit forgotten in all the previews. Mercedes’ Brit looks very stable and his improvement compared to the start of the season is undeniable.

In our personal opinion, he is a more talented driver than Leclerc, and Mercedes most definitely has a better vehicle than Ferrari right now. That is, the Silver Arrow is more stable.

That’s why we picked him to reach the podium here. It’s our bet of the day. Russell has the momentum; he won recently and looks like a guy with enough potential to do it again. But just in case, we are going to play it much safer and have him step on the podium.
