One of the most prestigious ATP events outside of the four Grand Slams will take place in Paris in early November as the Paris Masters takes place at AccorHotels Arena. Some of the world’s best players will be in action at the competition, as they look to claim a big success ahead of the season-ending ATP Finals in Italy.

ATP Paris Masters Event Details

The ATP Paris Masters is one of the significant events on the ATP Tour, as it takes place just before the field is set for the Tour Finals. It is also one of the Grand Prix Tour events, which means some of the biggest players in the world will be in action.

It has been held on an indoor hard surface since 2007, which replaced the previous surface of carpet. This event is also a lucrative one for players, with €3,084,450 available to those involved.

History & Records

The Paris Masters was first competed back in 1969, and this year’s will be one of the most celebrated in years, as it will be staged for the 50th time. It holds extra significance to players, as it is the only Masters 1000 event that is held indoors. Some of the greatest players to play the sport have claimed victory in this event, including Andre Agassi, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. Those three players, along with Ilie Nastase are the only stars to have won both the French Open and Paris Masters.

However, Djokovic is the most successful in the history of the event, as he remains the only player to have successfully defended his title. The Serbian dominated the event between 2013 and 2015, and comes into the 2022 edition of the competition as the defending champion once again.

Leading Contenders

This looks set to be another high-quality edition of the Paris Masters, but there will be no surprise to see Novak Djokovic at the top of the betting. The Serbian has won this event on six previous occasions, including twice in the previous three years. Last year, he managed to see off Daniil Medvedev 2-1 in sets to regain the title.

The Russian star looks set to be his biggest danger to landing victory this year, as Medvedev has excelled throughout his career on this surface. He landed success in the US Open last year, and made it through to the round of 16 earlier this year. However, his momentum has stalled slightly in the second half of the season, and he was easily brushed aside by Djokovic in the semi-finals of the ATP Tour event in Astana last month.

Jannik Sinner still look a solid contender, as he enjoyed a steady run to the quarterfinals of the US Open, but Carlos Alcaraz looks set to play a more prominent role, as the recently crowned US Open champion has a clear ability on this surface.

ATP Paris Masters Prediction

Djokovic may be a hard player to ignore in the betting, but a chance is taken on Alcaraz, who has been excellent on the indoor courts throughout the season. Beaten US finalist, Casper Rudd, could also surprise a few.

Pick: Carlos Alcaraz at BetXchange.
