Heavyweight boxing action takes place in the United Kingdom on Saturday evening, as Derek Chisora makes his return to the ring. The British fighter will step into the ring to take on Kubrat Pulev for the second time, as he looks to avenge the defeat that he suffered in May 2016.

Huge Fight For Chisora

This could potentially be the biggest fight of Chisora’s career. Many have questioned his decision to continue boxing, as it looks extremely unlikely that he will get back in the hunt for a championship opportunity. There was a feeling that the Brit was going to retire after his bout against Joseph Parker last December. Chisora was beaten by unanimous decision on that night, which was the second time that he had lost to the Kiwi boxer that calendar year.

Chisora hasn’t won since October 2019, and has lost each of his previous three fights. His best performance during that period actually came against Oleksandr Usyk, as he took the world champion the distance before losing by unanimous decision in London. It appears hard to see Chisora getting back on track this weekend, and his odds ultimately determine the level that he finds himself at in this modern day.

Pulev Hoping For Title Opportunity

There could be more on the line for Kubrat Pulev this weekend, as he could have a chance of getting back into the world title picture depending on how the Anthony Joshua and Usyk fight plays out next month. He has lost just twice during his professional career, with both defeats coming in his challenges for the world titles. The latest defeat that he suffered came in December 2020, as he was beaten by a ninth-round KO by Anthony Joshua in London. However, he returned to the ring with a strong display in the United States against Jerry Forrest, as he won by unanimous decision after ten rounds.

Pulev appears to be one of the best heavyweights outside of the main contenders for world championship glory, and wins over Derek Chisora and Hughie Fury previously only heighten those claims. Whether he will get another chance at a world title remains to be seen, but he certainly looks the most likely to win this fight.

Derek Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev Prediction

This could be another testing night for Chisora, as we struggle to see past Pulev picking up a second win against his long-time rival. We expect it to go the distance, but we think he will get the unanimous decision victory

Pick: Kubrat Pulev at 7/20 with BetXchange.
