It is back to the bread and butter business of the DSTV Premiership after the conclusion of the latest FIFA international window where focus was on Bafana Bafana who earned four points from a possible six over the past weekend.

While the league was on a break, focus was firmly fixed on Bafana Bafana who managed a credible away draw with Zimbabwe in Harare last week and pulled off a stunning win over the Black Stars of Ghana at FNB Stadium on Monday.

As result of the four points they gained from the two matches against Zimbabwe and Ghana, Bafana have taken the leadership of Group G in what is going to be an interesting race for qualification for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

League action resumes this weekend with round three of matches headlined by a crunch clash between defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday where sparks are expected to fly.

All the clubs will be in action this weekend in the DSTV Premiership with the exception of AmaZulu host Nyasa Big Bullets from Malawi and Marumo Gallants who are away to Futuro Kings of Equatorial Guniea in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.

TS Galaxy VS Golden Arrows

TS Galaxy coach Owen Da Gama will welcome back rising midfield star Ethan Brooks who starred for Bafana Bafana during the qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana against unpredictable Golden Arrows.

TS Galaxy goes into this match looking for their first of the season after one loss and draw while coach of Arrows Lehlohonolo Seema will be looking for his second three points of the season after a win and a loss.

Orlando Pirates VS Swallows

Orlando Pirates are stuttering out of the blocks with two points from a possible six after successive opening draws and coaches Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi and the players will be under pressure to get their campaign going.

Their mission is not going to be an easy one as they are against Swallows who their tails will be up after registering one win and a draw in their opening two matches Royal AM and AmaZulu before the Fifa break.

Baroka VS Maritzburg United

Just like last season, Maritzburg have started the season poorly with two losses in as many opening matches against Golden Arrows and rookies Sekhukhune United and coach Ernst Middendorp will be for an improved performance from his charges.

They are up against an unpredictable Baroka side who started the season with a win over Marumo Gallants but lost to Kaizer Chiefs in their next match.

Sekhukhune United VS Stellenbosch

Early season pacesetters Stellenbosch, who have accumulated four points from a possible six, will be favourites to get a win away from home stay in the top half of the table with the likes of SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City.

It remains to be seen how Sekhukhune United will fare in their new surroundings of Ellis Park in Johannesburg after they moved from their traditional home of Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa due to poor lighting.

Mamelodi Sundowns VS Kaizer Chiefs

Without a shadow of doubt, this is the match of the weekend.

This is a hugely anticipated tie between traditional rivals who have traded blows on many occasions in the past and it is going to be interesting how they fare considering that most of the players who were not involved with their national teams may be lacking match fitness.
