Erste Bank Open Bet Preview

Vienna

25th – 31st October 2021

The ATP Tour rolls into Vienna for what promises to be a fascinating week of action. With all 4 Grand Slams boxed off, attention now turns to the end of year finals for many of the biggest names in the men’s game. The Erste Bank Open in Vienna is one of the biggest events played in Europe and is an indoor, hard court warm up for the Paris Masters and ATP World Tour Finals still to come this term. With over $1.5 million dollars in the prize pot too, there is plenty to play for in the Austrian capital this week.

Stefanos Tsitsipas – 7/4 – Young Greek sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas has had a relatively quiet season by his high standards, despite getting to the final of the French Open. Indoor hard court is very much his scene, having won the ATP World Tour Finals in London previously and he will be looking to finish the season strongly here in Vienna.

Alexander Zverev – 5/1 – Olympic gold medallist Sacha Zverev has defied many doubters this season and managed to put together a seriously consistent run of performances in big events. He is still yet to break the Grand Slam duck, but he too relishes the speed of indoor hard courts, and he could be one to watch from second seed this week.

Matteo Berrettini– 8/1 – Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini has been one of the success stories of the year in 2021 and he finds himself firmly established in the world’s top 10 players. The Italian isn’t known for his hard court prowess and has a tough draw here in Vienna but he is super resilient and he could be somebody who sneaks under the radar this week.

Felix Auger Aliassime – 7/1 – Big hitting Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime appears to have the world at his feet and operating from a career high of 11th in the world rankings, tells you all you need to know about the season Felix Auger Aliassime is having. He has a tricky looking draw in Vienna but he has a game made for indoor hard court and he should be raring to go this week.

Cameron Norrie – 10/1 – Fresh off the back of his historic triumph at the Masters 1000 event at Indian Wells earlier in October, newly crowned British number one Cameron Norrie will be looking to go deep again here in Vienna. How much rest he has been able to get since the US hard court swing and the European indoor court section of the tour remains to be seen but he is a seriously dangerous player on his day.

Casper Ruud – 14/1 – Young Norwegian Casper Ruud has sky rocketed the ATP World Tour rankings this year and finds himself seeded 4th at this event in Vienna. He will need to be at his best if he is to go the distance in the Austrian capital this week but he has a game suited for all surfaces and he is super confident.

Frances Tiafoe – 33/1 – American Frances Tiafoe has threatened to make a big breakthrough on the ATP Tour over the past few seasons, with out it ever really materialising. He was edged out in an absolute classic by Andy Murray in Antwerp last week and he will be looking to bounce back here and show what he can do in a relatively open looking field.
