Europa League round 6 marks the beginning of a grinding battle for the playoffs and the knockout stage. All the teams still have a chance to reach the next round, but some are better than others. Regarding the top 8 places, things are going to be even more intense, as the gap between the first and 15th teams is only 3 points.

As far as betting concerns, and that’s why we’re all here, several games are picked here, all with a short analysis and a pick at the end.

Young Boys VS Lille

The hosts have 6 points and are outside the zone that leads to the playoffs or a direct place in the knockout stage. After 5 rounds, they have two wins and three losses, and a negative goal difference of 7 scored and 12 conceded.

Though in the last three games, this team lost twice and had one tie, allowing 8 goals. So, the Youngsters are in problems, and that’s something they can’t hide.

As for Lille, the French unit has four straight wins, and in the last three, they haven’t allowed a single goal. The Dogues are 11th in the Europa League with 9 points, and are in contention for a spot in the top 8.

Lille isn’t particularly good away from home, having three straight losses before the latest win in Le Havre, 0-1. What’s also noticeable is that all of their previous 5 outings have ended with under 2.5 goals and just one side netting.

On one side, we have the rising Lille, and on the other, struggling Young Boys, with all of its defensive problems. Our logic tells us here to bet on the guests.

Celtic VS AS Roma

Things haven’t been good for the Hoops this year, but they are still in the mix for the Europa League playoffs. Meanwhile, Roma has played better than expected, but their last two games have been a huge setback.

Il Lupi lost at home to Napoli and on the road to Cagliari, both 1-0. Previously, Gaperini’s crew was dominant and led the Serie A standings at one point. This team plays strong, defensive-minded football, with 4 of the past 5 road games going under 2.5 hits.

The Celts had 6 straight wins before losing to Hearts at home last weekend, 1-2. It was something that really hurt their fans, and the morale was severely hit by this failure. Celtic has 7 points so far and is 21st, meaning their win here is imperative, not just to move up but to stay in the safe zone.

However, despite Roma’s recent losses, we are backing the guests from Italy to triumph. The reason is simple: Il Lupi is a harder, more talented team across all positions.

FCSB VS Feyenoord

Both teams are outside the playoff zone, sitting 30th and 31st in the UEL standings. Both have 3 points and a -5 goal difference. Therefore, we might say that whoever loses here will have a hard time reaching the playoffs.

Coming into this matchup, the hosts were in poor form. FCSB has only one victory in the last 7 games, and are without a goal scored in three of the previous 4 events.

On the other hand, Feyenoord is slowly recovering following a 4-game losing streak, beating Telstar on the road, 1-2, and Zwolle at home this last weekend, 6-1.

From what we see here, the best possible bet would be over 2.5 goals. Just one of Feyenoord’s previous 10 matches didn’t feature three goals, and FCSB has to attack and try to take three points here.
