The destination of the Drivers’ Championship this season may have already been decided, but there are still four races remaining of the 2022 season. Red Bull will have the opportunity to wrap up the Constructors’ Championship this weekend, but it’s highly unlikely that they will be congratulated by many teams, as the allegations of their cap breach continue to make the headlines.

United States Grand Prix Odds

Once again, the outright winner market for the race this weekend is dominated by Max Verstappen. The Dutchman is currently 9/20 to win the United States Grand Prix this weekend, and he is also the pre-weekend favorite to be the fastest qualifier and record the fastest lap. Charles Leclerc is second choice in the betting, but those odds could drift once he takes the engine penalty that has been rumoured.

Lewis Hamilton is yet to win a race this season, but he is available at 8/1, while Sergio Perez is a 10/1 chance, George Russell is available at 12/1 and Carlos Sainz is next best at 18/1 at BetXchange.

Event Details & Records

The United States Grand Prix has been held on 50 previous occasions, with ten different tracks being able to host the prestigious event. This weekend’s race will once again take place at the Circuit of the Americas. It has been held at the track since 2012, with the only exception coming in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver in the history of the race, as the Brit has claimed victory on six occasions. However, he hasn’t won the race since 2017. Max Verstappen won the United States Grand Prix for the first time in his career last year, while Hamilton took the bonus point for the fastest lap.

Leading Contenders

Red Bull’s dominance on track has been evident throughout the season, but especially over the previous seven races. During that time, Verstappen has taken the chequered flag on six occasions, with Sergio Perez’s only victory coming in the Singapore Grand Prix. However, with all the negative feeling towards the team coming into this weekend, it may be a slightly bitter sweet moment for them to wrap up the Constructors’ Championship.

Ferrari should have pushed Red Bull closer this season, but their standards have been very erratic throughout the campaign and their strategy has been called into question throughout. Their last win came back in Austria, which at that point put Charles Leclerc firmly in the mix for a challenge at the Drivers’ Championship.

Instead, it appears likely that they will be competing with Mercedes for the second position in the Constructors’ standings. It hasn’t been the best season for Mercedes, but they believe that they are edging closer towards a car that can compete. That has been evident by the results achieved by Hamilton and George Russell in recent months, and things could get better for them this weekend.

United States Grand Prix Prediction

It’s very hard to look past Verstappen, but we could see the Mercedes drivers having a very good weekend in the US this weekend. We still expect Verstappen to win the race, but we could see Hamilton and Russell sharing the podium for the third time this season.

Pick: Max Verstappen to win at 9/20 with BetXchange.

Pick: Lewis Hamilton To Finish On Podium at 1/1 with BetXchange.

Pick: George Russell To Finish On Podium at 15/10 with BetXchange.
