It is time for the final LIV Golf Tour event of the season. The 12 remaining teams will play in the LIV Golf Michigan Team Championship this Friday through Sunday.

The format is unique to this event. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played head-to-head on Friday and Saturday. The gold will then move to stroke play on Sunday, with the final three teams fighting to be crowned 2025 team champions.

On Friday and Saturday, each team contest will consist of two singles matches and one alternate shot (foursomes) match. The captain of the highest-ranked team selects the matchups. Each match awards one point to the winner, and the first team to two points wins.

Two wins will get a team into the Championship bracket for Sunday. All 48 players will play, with teams 1st to 3rd after the quarters and semis in the Championship bracket, 4th through 6th (the semi-final losers) in the next bracket, and so on. The lowest team score from the three Championship Bracket competitors is crowned the 2025 LIV Golf Team Champion.

LIV Golf Michigan Team Championship 2025 Leading Contenders

Legion Xiii is the clear favorite to win this event. They have claimed $17 million in prize money throughout the season, finishing on 248 points to date.

For context, Crushers GC, in second place, has 186 points and just $10.5 million in winnings. This is a sizable gap, showing just how consistent the top-line players from Legion Xiii have been in 2025.

The main reason for this confidence is the play of captain Jon Rahm. Rahm was able to win the individual championship in Indianapolis last weekend, despite not winning a single event on the tour this season. That shows how stunningly consistent the Spaniard has been, with Rahm finishing in and amongst the Top 5 time after time on tour.

Add in the play of Tyrrell Hatton, an automatic Ryder Cup qualifier thanks to his 2025 play, and a couple of youngsters in Caleb Surratt and Tom McKibbin who can more than hold their own, and you have a squad that is going to be very difficult to beat in Michigan.

The other team to watch for is Torque GC. Captain Joaquin Niemann is the all-time LIV Tour individual event winner and is in outstanding form. Don’t let their one team win this season fool you, as this squad has consistently finished in the top three. They are the team I see challenging Legion Xiii on Sunday.

LIV Michigan Team Championship 2025 Prediction

To make the Championship Bracket, Legion Xiii must have Rahm and Hatton win their singles matches. This gives them an outstanding platform, one they will ride to glory.

Pick: Legion Xiii – 13/5
