The US summer swing is now in full flow on the PGA Tour, following the European swing and the familiarity of home is sure to suit the Americans in the field. The event will once again see stellar crowds back in after the COVID 19 pandemic and with a healthy prize pot of over 7.3 million dollars up for grabs – there is plenty to play for this week in North Carolina.

Betting Preview

Outright Winner

The Wyndham Championship is the sixth oldest event on the PGA Tour and there are plenty of big names hoping to etch their names into the history books in 2022:-

Shane Lowry – 16/1

Irishman Shane Lowry is one of the men to watch in any event he plays and in favourable conditions here, he could take some stopping.

Sungjae Im – 16/1

It has been a season to remember on the PGA Tour for Sungjae Im and his consistency levels have made him a candidate in every event he plays currently.

Webb Simpson – 25/1

2019 Wyndham Championship runner up Webb Simpson continues to churn out the results on the PGA Tour and he’ll be pushing all the way again here in North Carolina.

Adam Scott – 40/1

Former world number one Adam Scott is always a man to look out for in any field and he is another player whose game should be well suited to the surrounds this week.

Kevin Kisner – 40/1

American veteran Kevin Kisner continues to put solid performances in on the PGA Tour and he will fancy his chances on the course layout here in North Carolina.

1st Round Leader

Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first round leader picks:-

Russell Henley – 45/1

Russell Henley is hugely experienced at this level on the PGA Tour and his skill set could be an excellent fit for the course here at Sedgefield Country Club.

Justin Rose – 50/1

Englishman Justin Rose has been mixing it with the big boys on the PGA Tour for the best part of two decades and he could go well in favourable conditions in North Carolina this weekend.

Top Five Finish

With so many quality players assembled here in North Carolina, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:-

Will Zalatoris – 7/2

With a Masters runners-up slot under his belt already in his career, Will Zalatoris knows what it takes to finish in the top 10 at big events on the PGA Tour.

Tyrrell Hatton – 7/1

Fiery Englishman Tyrrell Hatton is capable of beating anyone on his day and in the absence of some of the biggest names on the PGA Tour here, he could sneak under the radar a little.

Jason Day – 12/1

Another former world number one in the field is Jason Day and he can always turn on the style at any point, making him an outside candidate to finish in side the top 5 here in North Carolina.
