Lazio hosts Napoli in one of the top Serie A games this weekend. The home team is 8th in the Serie A standings, while Napoli sits 3rd, two points away from the leaders, Inter Milan. Odds favor the team from Naples, though only slightly, and in these games we usually don’t have massive underdogs or favorites, especially in Calcio.

On the other side, Atalanta plays with Roma this Saturday in yet another derby. Roma is 4th with 33 points, while Atalanta can’t find a good rhythm this season and is 10th in the Serie A standings. This is something La Dea’s supporters didn’t expect, which puts pressure on this unit ahead of this event. What’s also interesting is that Gian Piero Gasperini comes back to Bergamo. Though as Roma’s head coach. It will be his first return to Gewiss since leaving it this summer.

We will cover both of these events in the following part of the text, so stay tuned. For more Serie A odds, follow this link.

Lazio VS Napoli Preview

The Eagles haven’t lost in their past 5 games, though; they have just 2 wins and 3 ties. All of these matches were with under 2.5 goals, and that’s something that characterizes Lazio’s performances throughout the season. In fact, all of their previous 12 appearances featured two goals at most.

What worries the fans is that Lazio hasn’t triumphed in its previous two meetings at the Olimpico. After a 1-1 draw against Bologna, they had a goalless draw vs. Cremonese.

Napoli, meanwhile, had a rough stretch, yet Partenopei recovered by winning the Italian Super Cup, beating Milan and Bologna both with the same result, 2-0. After that, they had one more event, also against Cremonese on the road, whom Conte’s team defeated, again 0-2.

Lazio hasn’t lost to Napoli in the last 6 games, winning 4 of them. This is a tough tradition for the champions, who now have to do their best to break it.

We sincerely believe that might be the case here, but in our opinion, it’s best to bet on low efficiency, which is under 2.5 goals. Both teams are hard, especially Lazio, and we don’t expect to see too many goals here.

Atalanta VS Roma Preview

Gasperini’s comeback will be emotional, though the home team must attack its former coach and secure three points. La Dea is in a bad situation and has to improve as quickly as possible. They had three wins in a row until losing to Inter at home 0-1 just ahead of the New Year.

As for Roma, they have 7 wins in the last 10 games, with three losses. One of them was recently in Turin for Juve vs. 2-1, but after that, Il Lupi recovered, winning 3-1 at home vs. Genoa. One interesting thing for Roma is that they didn’t have a single tie away from home this year.

Atalanta is unbeaten against Il Lupi in the last 6 matches, winning 5 of them. However, that was under Gasperini’s tenure, and things are different now. This is a completely different situation for either unit.

The more we look and analyze, the more we believe this game will end in a draw. Neither team had one for a long time, and overall, it seems that it’s the most logical solution for Saturday’s event. Sure, things can go either way in this case, but on the other hand, we sometimes have to rely on the “big numbers theory” and, looking at the odds, it definitely has value here. The risk/profit ratio is very high, and we simply have to try this one.
