UFC 322 is arguably the most electric MMA event of the year. The battle between Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev highlights this event, with the co-main battle being between Valentina Shevchenko and Zhang Weili. Both are title fights.

Apart from that, the MMA betting fans will have a chance to see Leon Edwards meeting Carlos Prates, while Sean Brady faces Michael Morales. Bo Nickal, Tracy Cortez, and others are also involved; therefore, it’s the reason why we say this event is one of the most interesting this year.

Della Maddalena VS Makhachev Preview

The fact that Della Maddalena has 18 wins in a row and carries the welterweight belt tells pretty much enough about his quality. Though many believe he hasn’t been properly tested to face Islam. His first significant win came against Kevin Holland in 2023, via split decision, and after that, he beat Gilbert Burns via KO in March 2024. Then came the title battle against Belal, whom he defeated at the UFC 315 in May this year by an unanimous decision.

Della Maddalena is a hard hitting fighter, and 12 of his 18 wins came via KO. And not only does he have a KO power in his fists, but he also knows how to hit with both, which is an additional problem for the rivals. The one thing we don’t know is his stamina. He only once went into championship rounds, though he did that vs. Belal, whose pace is extreme, but still, Della Maddalena’s capabilities in this area remain an enigma.

Islam’s pace and stamina are already known. There aren’t fighters in the UFC with such a gas tank and such power. His natural environment back home in Dagestan and training at a high altitude are something that gave him an edge over all the other fighters.

It is why this guy has 27 wins and only 1 loss. Additionally, there is his incredible wrestling and sambo technique, which is arguably the most perfect in the organization. Makhachev’s training includes wrestling with Khabib and that pretty much alone says everything.

Della Maddalena VS Makhachev Prediction

Sure, JDM is bigger and has a three-inch reach edge, but on the other side, he faces a guy whose pressure on the mat is incredible. We are more than certain that Della Maddalena won’t have a chance to escape Islam for too long, which is why we bet on Makhachev’s triumph in this event.

UFC 322 Main Card

MMA betting lovers will have a chance to place some money on plenty of interesting matches this Saturday evening. Here are the bouts, and here are the UFC odds on this link.

Shevchenko VS Weili

The Bullet is the flyweight champion, while Weili moved up to challenge the legendary fighters after successfully defending her title three times in her second run. Shevchenko lost the title to Alexa Grasso in March 2022, then had a draw against the same rival before beating her in September 2024. After that, she would beat Manon Fiorot at UFC 315 for another belt defense.

Now, we do know that both of these fighters are veterans; Shevchenko is 37 years old, and Weili is 35 years old. The main reason why we back up Valentina is her reach, as she knows well how to keep her rivals at a distance. Meanwhile, Weili didn’t do well against Namajunas, who has a similar athleticism and fighting style.

Brady VS Morales

Both fighters are on the rise, with Brady boasting an 18-1 record and Morales holding an 18-0 record. The latter is a terrific puncher who has 13 wins via KO, among others, Neil Magny and Gilbert Burns being his victims, while Morales has a more mixed finishing, 3 KOs, 6 submissions and 9 decisions. His last win was against Leon Edwards, whom he easily beat.

Sean Brady is a more experienced fighter, whose fighting is more diverse and capable of restraining Morales. We will give a grappler an edge over the striker here.

Edwards VS Prates

Rocky is on the downhill and that’s a fact. After his title quest, he quickly plummeted and is now more or less a good score for the rising fighters. Prates is one such, with 12 wins in the last 13 battles. He had three KOs in the past 4 events, which made him one of the potential candidates for big-time fights. Prates is a very talented striker whose 17 of 22 wins came via KO, and he will win this event.
