Another exciting night of UFC action will be taking place this weekend, as Aspen Ladd and Norma Dumont clash inside the octagon. Dumont was previously meant to be taking on Holly Holm, but Holm was forced to pull out through injury. However, can Dumont still get the win this weekend at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas?

Ladd vs Dumont Preview

The BetXchange markets for the big fight in Las Vegas this weekend currently have Ladd Aspen as the 7/10 favourite, while Dumont is priced up at 1/1. Both stars will have a point to prove this weekend, as they look to climb the rankings in the women’s featherweight division. Victory for either could lead to a title shot in their next fight, and cases can certainly be made for both women for this weekend’s bout.

Ladd has been in the UFC since October 2017, and has fought on five occasions. She has a professional record of 9-1 from her ten fights, with her only defeat coming by way of TKO back in July 2019 against Germaine de Randamie. Ladd has only been back in the octagon on one occasion since that defeat, as she beat Yana Kuniskaya in December 2019 by TKO in the third round of their contest.

Her record is a very impressive one, as she has won six times by knockout, and once by submission. She was awarded the performance of the night bonus back in 2018 after beating Tonya Evinger by TKO in the first round of their bout at UFC 229. Ladd also won the bonus for Fight of the Night in 2019 after claiming just her second victory by decision when she beat Sijara Eubanks after three captivating rounds of action in New York.

This will be a much sterner test for Ladd this weekend, as Dumont also boasts a very impressive record, having won six times in her seven fights. Her only defeat came in her UFC debut bout against Megan Anderson, as she was beaten by KO punch in round one in Virginia at UFC Fight Night.

However, she has returned twice that defeat, winning on both occasions. Her first of those victories came against Ashlee Evans-Smith, winning by unanimous decision in November 2020. Dumont should be the fighter with less ring rust, as she fought for the last time in May 2021, winning by split decision against Felicia Spencer. Dumont is yet to win a fight by knockout, with two of her wins coming by submission and the remaining four coming by decision.

UFC Fight Night: Ladd vs Dumont Prediction

This is a fight that could swing in either direction, as both have clear chances. However, Ladd’s return is highly anticipated, and we give her every chance of winning this bout inside the distance. A TKO/KO win for Ladd would be our pick for this huge main event.

Pick: Ladd to win at 7/10 at BetXchange.
