Final round robin matches of the Varsity Shield takes place on Friday afternoon with Walter Sisulu University (WSU) intent to maintain their position at the top of the standings when they take on third-placed Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).

A win for WSU will make things difficult for second-placed Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) who have a bye on Friday and only return for their outstanding match against Rhodes University (RU) on Sunday.

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) vs Walter Sisulu University (WSU)

Tshwane University of Technology Vikings are looking to cement their third-place position but their mission is not going to be an easy one against log-leaders Walter Sisulu University All Blacks who have ambitions of their own in this round of fixtures.

It is going to be a fiercely contested affair between these two sides who have won their five matches so far in the season and will be going all out to enter the knockout stages with morale boosting win.

University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) vs University Fort Hare (UFH)

Only one point separates University of KwaZulu-Natal Impi and University Fort Hare Blues on the middle of the table and this is an indication of how close this clash is going to be at Loftus where they will be battling for supremacy.

UFH will once again rely on the brilliance of Brandt Fields who scored a brace of tries, kicked six conversions and also gave up a hat-trick in a moment of selflessness to ensure outside centre Keith Chiwara got his in their last match.

Pick: UKZN Wins at 0.35 at BetXChange

Durban University of Technology (DUT) vs Rhodes University (Rhodes)

This is the battle of the strugglers as they go into this round of matches still looking for their first wins of the campaign and there is a strong possibility that one of them will register their first win with draws not common in rugby.

Durban University of Technology Rhinos, who are experiencing a baptism by fire in their first Varsity Shield campaign, will be playing for blindside flanker and vice-captain Lwazi Bhengu after his family home was destroyed by fire.

Pick: Rhodes Wins at 0.03 at BetXChange
