La Liga saw three rounds already, and Gameweek 4 is ahead of us this weekend. Real and Betis are the only teams with a perfect record, while on the other side, several units are without a win after three contests.
Sevilla VS Barcelona
Rojoblancos are without a victory since the year began, having one draw and two defeats in the initial three matches. To be honest, we didn’t expect that, because Sevilla has a pretty decent roster, despite several big-time departures this summer. Two losses to Osasuna and Almeria were with the same result, 2-1, and the draw VS Valladolid ended 1-1. So, Rojoblancos both score and concede goals.
Barcelona was disastrous on the opening night, playing without goals at home with Rayo Vallecano, 0-0. After that, Blaugrana woke up packing eight goals in the upcoming two events, the first on the road in San Sebastian against Real, 1-4, and then at Camp Nou when they demolished Valladolid, 4-0.
The guests are playing much easier on the road because the rivals usually don’t defend and play a bit looser. That gives space to Raphinha and the rest of Barca’s fast and skillful players, especially to Dembele, who is arguably among the quickest footballers today. We believe that Barcelona won’t have any problems winning there.
Pick: Barcelona wins 4/5 at BetXchange
Real Sociedad VS Atletico Madrid
Both teams have two wins and a loss apiece, and they usually play tough and inefficient games, where their defenses provide the difference. Real posted two triumphs, both with a minimal result, 0-1. Interestingly, they were on the road, in Cadiz and Elche, and the only loss was at home to Barcelona, who broke Sociedad’s defense, 1-4.
On the other hand, Atletico, too, has two victories away from home, against Getafe, 0-3, and Valencia, 0-1, while the only defeat suffered was at Wanda Metropolitan, 0-2 against Villarreal. The Mattress Makers still prefer ultra-defensive football, invented by Diego Simeone. Over the recent years, Atletico played one of the ugliest footballs in Europe, but they had results that justified that.
Our pick here would be under 2.5 goals. Sociedad is playing tough football, relying upon its defense. We don’t want to speak too much about Atletico, as we all know their style and preferences. Expect a very physical match, possibly with a red card and lots of yellow cards, yet with one or two goals at max.
Pick: Under 2.5 goals 3/5 at BetXchange
Real Madrid VS Real Betis
The clash of the only two teams with three wins in three games since the start of the league. Real, the European champions didn’t slow down at all since the finish of the previous campaign once they won all the key trophies possible. Los Blancos beat Almeria, Celta, and Espanyol, all three on the road, and in all of them, they scored at least twice. Their games were with both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.
On the other side, Betis won twice at home, VS Elche, 3-0, and Osasuna 1-0, and one on the road against Mallorca, 1-2. The team plays solid and rational football, but we doubt that Betis can endanger Real, especially at Santiago.
Two wins at home against mediocre sides and one on the road, with the rivals also being average, aren’t impressive, and that’s why we think Real won’t have many problems here. Their attack is in very solid shape and covers up all the mistakes the defense makes.
