The 32-year old Australian played exceptional golf, winning the Nedbank Golf Challenge by six strokes on Sunday at the Gary Player Country Club. This is Marc Leishmans ninth professional title and first win on the EPGA Tour.
Sweden’s Henrik Stenson finished as Runner-Up on the day. Stenson, bidding for a 10th EPGA win, came unstuck with bogeys at the 3rd, 7th, 15th and 18th as Leishman carded birdies at 7, 9, 10, 13, 15 and 16 to comfortably hold on in a magnificent closing round. Said Leishman: “Henrik is an awesome player and in the world’s top 10 but I really enjoyed myself and South Africa so definitely looking forward to coming back.”
The Nedbank Golf Challenge was played at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City this past weekend.
