The 4 match Test Series which runs from the 26th December to 26th January should provide an exciting platform for online betting. Currently the bets are 11/20 for South Africa to win, 3/1 for England to win and 9/2 for a draw. Betting options are also split further into Englands top bowler and batsman.

Englands Top Bowler – Current betting odds stand as follows:
SCJ Broad current betting odds of 18/10, JM Anderson at 18/10, M Footitt  at 6/1, BA Stokes at  6/1, C Woakes at  8/1, CJ Jordan at 8/1, MM Ali at 10/1, SR Patel at 33/1 and JE Root at 100/1.

Englands Top Batsman – Current betting odds stand as follows:
AN Cook with current betting odds of 5/2, JE Root with 5/2, AD Hales with 11/2, JWA Taylor with 6/1, NRD Compton with 6/1, Ballance with 8/1, BA Stokes with 12/1, JM Bairstow with 12/1, MM Ali with 20/11, JC Buttler with 20/1, SR Patel with 40/1 and C Woakes with 150/1.

The last time England toured South Africa was in 2009-2010, the test series will be remembered for England hanging on nine wickets down in both the Centurion and Cape Town tests to draw both matches and resulting in the test series being drawn 1-1. This was also the last time South Africa played a four-Test series.

England won the ODI series 2-1(with 2 matches being abandoned due to weather) and the two match T20 series was shared 1-1

Says Haroon Lorgat, CEO of CSA: “The tour has already drawn huge interest and promises to be the highlight of our summer with four Test matches being played.”

Cricket betting fans are more than likely closely watching South Africa’s performance in India which is unfortunately below average at the moment. This of course doesn’t bode well for their upcoming battles against England, however  on the South African pace friendly pitches and England arriving from a series against Pakistan the Proteas will go into the series as favourites.
