Andre Iguodala solved a thrilling match in Toronto, with a three-pointer 5.9 seconds before the end. The veteran forward drilled from deep to give his team a five-point lead, which eventually turned out to be the final result of this contest, 109-104.
The Warriors were down 47-35 during the second quarter but started a huge surge after the halftime which included them scoring 18 straight points. After that period, GSW was up, and in control of the game.
Everything was great for them until the last five and a half minutes, when they just stopped, and allowed the home team to create a 10-0 run which brought them to 106-104.
GSW couldn’t score for 5:33 before Iguodala’s three which sealed the match. Now they travel to Oakland with the home court advantage in their hands.
Though, they might be in trouble because Klay Thompson picked up an injury which is still to be assessed. That happened in the fourth quarter. Kevon Looney also went out, but that took place much earlier, and he too might be unavailable for Game 3.
Thompson had a team-high 25 points shooting threes 4 of 6 and adding 5 rebounds and assists each. Steph Curry added 23, while Draymond Green missed his fourth consecutive triple-double by one assist.
Green scored 17 points, had 10 boards and 9 dimes. Golden State saw DeMarcus Cousins back in the starting five, and Boogie’s contribution was very good, 11 points, 10 boards, and 6 assists in 28 minutes.
On the other side, Kawhi Leonard scored 34 points had 14 boards and was perfect from the free throw line hitting all 16 attempts. Fred Van Vleet added 17 off the bench, while Pascal Siakam totally failed to have an impact on the game. He ended the night with 12 points, 5 of 18 from the field, and had 8 boards and 5 assists.
Kyle Lowry scored 13 buckets.
The next game will be played at the Oracle Arena, this Wednesday.
