Manchester United is desperately trying to strengthen their squad before the start of the next Premiership campaign.

The Red Devils suffered several setbacks during this season, among which staying out of top 4 in the Premiership is the most painful one.

United will not play in the Champions League next season, and the management is doing everything to bring some high-quality players who will be able to lead Solskjaer’s team to some notable success.

But things aren’t going as planned, at least at the moment. Two disappointing news for United’s fans arrived today.

The first one is that Crystal Palace turned down the offer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Reds Devils were willing to pay £50 million for the strong right-back who was probably the best player on that position in the previous Premiership season.

United had a plan to give £35 million now and have other £15 million through additional payments. However, the Eagles from Selhurst Park declined the bid, suggesting that they want the whole sum right away.

Another disappointment came from Brazil. Philippe Coutinho allegedly decided to rule out the possibility of landing at the Old Trafford. The Brazilian international, who hasn’t fit in very well in Barcelona is projected the leave the Spanish champions, but he won’t be joining Man Utd. The reason for such a decision was the respect towards his former club Liverpool, who is United’s biggest rival.

Coutinho isn’t willing to insult the fans and the organization, which helped him to become one of the best players in the world.

The one thing which might bring some joy to the Red Devils is Rio Ferdinand’s interest in becoming the sporting director at the Old Trafford.

One of the icons of the club met earlier today with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, and there are some indications that he might be willing to take the above-mentioned role.
