Venue: Turin, Italy
Date(s): 13th – 20th November 2022

Tournament Preview

The top 8 players in the game head to Turin for the ATP World Tour Finals season ending showcase. Whilst the event always has an end of season, exhibition feel to it, there is no doubting all of the players in the field will be chasing glory here in Turin. Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal (x2), and Carlos Alcaraz have won the 4 Grand Slams on offer this season and whilst Djokovic and Nadal are fit and firing here, Alcaraz misses out through injury. Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev will head up the Russian contingent, whilst US Open runner up Casper Ruud will be looking to make an impact. 2019 champion Stefanos Tsitsipas will also be looking to finish the year on a high, whilst Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz should also be in the mix too.

ATP World Tour Finals Format

The event is played in two round robin stages (4 players each) with the top two from each group qualifying for the semi-finals, the winners of which will contest Sunday’s final showpiece.

Green Group Red Group
Rafael Nadal Stefanos Tsitsipas
Casper Ruud Daniil Medvedev
Felix Auger-Aliassime Andrey Rublev
Taylor Fritz Novak Djokovic

Outright Winner Odds:-

Novak Djokovic– 14/10Coming in as the 7th seed at this event is unchartered territory for Novak Djokovic, who has missed lots of tennis this season due to his vaccination status. He remains the man to beat in most events however and he starts as the heavy favourite here in Turin.

Daniil Medvedev – 4/1Similarly, Daniil Medvedev hasn’t been able to access a full calendar of tennis due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but he is very capable of beating anybody on his day and conditions should suit in Turin this week.

Felix Auger-Aliassime – 11/2Canadian Felix Auguer-Aliassime has enjoyed another excellent season on the ATP Tour, and he looks set to make an assault on the established order here in Turin, with indoor hard court once again ideal for his game style.

Rafael Nadal – 15/2Australian Open and French Open champion Rafael Nadal has enjoyed another excellent season and whilst he does have some injury question marks overhanging him here, he can never be discarded in any event he plays.

Stefanos Tsitsipas – 8/12022 has largely been a year to forget for Stefanos Tsitsipas, who hasn’t been able to kick on like many would have expected. He did win this event in 2019 however and he could well rekindle his best tennis to conclude the season.

Taylor Fritz – 12/1American Taylor Fritz is really starting to come of age on the ATP Tour and reaching the World Tour Finals is representative of that. He has proven this season he can beat anybody, and he looks to be a real outsider in the Green Group.

Casper Ruud – 13/1US Open runner up Casper Ruud is operating from a career-high of 3 in the world and the Norwegian has enjoyed his most consistent season on the ATP Tour and how he’d love to finish the season on a high.

Andrey Rublev – 15/1Pitching the best players in the world against each other is always hotly contested and whilst Andrey Rublev is deemed to be the rank outsider here, he is very capable of mixing it with anybody on his day.
