ATP & WTA BNP Paribas Open Bet Preview

Date(s): 8th -19th March 2023

The American swing of both the ATP and WTA gets underway from Indian Wells in California, as the best players in the world battle it out for one of the most prestigious prizes in tennis. First hitting the tours back in 1974, Indian Wells is one of the flagship events in world tennis, with 96 players making up the singles draws in both the men’s and women’s tournament.

Prize money is a huge part of the appeal with the BNP Paribas Open, with a staggering $8.8 million in each prize pot, giving every player in the draw a serious carrot to play for. Previous winners of the event include some of the greatest players to have ever played the game – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, and Steffi Graf are just 4 examples of great champions in the Californian sunshine.

With some of the best players in the world in action, it promises to be a week of high-quality tennis at Indian Wells

Here are some our tips for the title in California this week:

Iga Swiatek – 6/4 – Undisputed world number one Iga Swiatek looks to be returning to form once again on the WTA Tour, with some devastating performances in recent weeks. She is the defending champion here too, making her the strong favourite.

Aryna Sabalenka – 7/1 – Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka has enjoyed a superb start to 2023 and she will be in contention from the outset here. She loves the pace of the hard courts, and she should get some protection from the number two seed.

Elena Rybakina – 12/1 – Having lost out in the final of the Australian Open earlier this year, Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina is forging a reputation for raising her game in the biggest events and she is currently in fine form. Conditions should suit here and she could be in the running from the outset.

Belinda Bencic – 14/1 – Swiss superstar Belinda Bencic is seen by many as an unfulfilled talent, but she is starting to show real signs of consistency and if the draw is relatively kind to her here, she could be a great outside shout in California this week.

Ons Jabeur – 20/1 – Tunisian Ons Jabeur hasn’t been at the top of her game this season but she will be hoping to find form at Indian Wells here. Her Australian Open disappointment is sure to be her inspiration here, as she looks to put in some big performances in pursuit of that elusive first Grand Slam later in the season.

Paula Badosa – 50/1 – Spaniard Paula Badosa has slipped out of the world’s top 10 in recent times but she is a precocious talent who picked up the biggest tournament win of her career here in Indian Wells back in 2021.
