The start of the Bundesliga brings a major clash between the reigning champions and the undisputed rulers of German football, Bayern Munich, and the hosts, this year’s Europa League winner, Eintracht Frankfurt.
Besides that we have several quite interesting games coming up, and we would like to point out the ones in Dortmund where Borussia hosts Bayer Leverkusen, and in Wolfsburg where home Wolves await the Bundesliga returnee, Werder Bremen.
Eintracht Frankfurt VS Bayern Munich
The Eagles will have quite the start to the campaign, as they host the best team in the country. But now, they do that as the reigning UEFA Europa League winners, which boosts their morale ahead of the clash. Eintracht was one of few teams who knew how to restrain Bayern in the years behind, and they posted several wins over the Bavarians, like the one in the DFB Pokal finals, or a 5-1 humiliation the year later, or even the last year’s triumph in Munich, 1-2.
We are aware that Nagelsmann knows all that and that he calls his players to have the utmost respect towards the Eagles. Still, anything else but a routine win for the guests would be characterized as a failure, particularly following a 3-5 win in Leipzig against RB.
We advise you to bet on goals here, both teams to score and over 2.5. This should be an open game with both teams trying to win and open the season in a positive mood.

Borussia Dortmund VS Bayer Leverkusen
The derby of the round, as we said. These two sides have a very long and colorful history and present the top echelon of German football. Both had success on the European stage in the past and have an enormous army of fans, which makes the entire thing even more enjoyable.
The Millionaires are in trouble, as they lost Erling Haaland, and besides that, his replacement, Sebastien Haller, who recently learned that he has cancer and had to start treatments. This leaves head coach Edin Terzic in an unpleasant situation, but the Millionaires have enough options to cover up this problem.
On the other side, Bayer opened the year with a shocking loss in the DFB Pokal to Elversberg, 4-3, which is something they haven’t planned. Leverkusen had some chances of reaching the trophy in the Cup, and that makes this exit even more painful.
Both of these units play open and offensive football, and four of their past five games saw at least four goals, while all of them ended with both teams scoring. Like in the previous case, our pick will be BTTS and over 2.5 goals.

Wolfsburg VS Werder Bremen
The Wolves have high ambitions this season, and they are eager to reach the international stage. On the other side, Werder is back from Zweite, fresh and determined to regain its old glory. This is one of the biggest teams in Germany, 123 years old, with four Bundesliga titles and one Cup Winners’ Cup.
Wolfsburg was very good in the preseason period, and they currently have four wins in a row, counting in the DFB Pokal triumph in Jena. Meanwhile, Werder didn’t post too many wins in friendly games, but unlike the Wolves, they picked very hard rivals, like Twente or Besiktas.
Both teams should be able to score a goal apiece here. We studied their recent clashes and got the impression that the respective offenses are better than their rivals in the defensive lines.
