In a last minute reshuffle, Henry Fadipe is unfortunately no longer Dricus du Plessis’s opponent as he struggles to get a South African visa. Taking his place however is Brazilian beast, Jose Da Rocha.
Da Rocha is Brazil’s Limo Fight middleweight champion. He has won the state and national Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai championships at various levels and enters EFC with seven international MMA victories to his name. He trains at the famed Bulldog Gym in Brazil alongside former UFC contender Bethe Correia and reigning featherweight Bellator champion Patricio Pitbull.
The majority of his MMA wins have come by way of submission, but it is clear that he has exceptional striking and he is looking forward to showcasing his skillset on a massive international platform. Said Da Rocha “I’m honored to represent my country and show that we can achieve anything if we work hard. It means everything to me to fight for an international title and bring it back to Brazil”
Dricus “Stillknocks” Du Plessis (9-1-0) is an MMA fighter out of Hatfield, Pretoria, South Africa and the #1st ranked Pro Mens Middleweight in South Africa. He most recently won his bought against Rafael Haratyk using Guillotine Choke.
