Every year the Sansui Summer Cup creates mass excitement amongst race goers and horse race betting enthusiasts. 1. Rabada: This year’s current favourite, Rabada has in fact not raced since 26 June when he finished a 1.50-length second behind No Worries over 1600m at Greyville. He will be racing in the Peermont Group Charity Mile on Saturday 5th November which should really display his status.

3. Liege: Also a Sean Tarry trained competitor, Liege was 10th behind Rabada in the Daily News 2000 at Greyville in June. Times could be good for this horse as he strolls into the starting blocks on the 26th.

4. Abashiri: South Africa’s third Triple Crown winner last season, Abashiri is a firm favourite. Currently the country’s top rated four-year-old.

5. Mac de Lago: A strong Australian-bred gelding, this horse and his trainer are seeking a win. He came third in this years Vodacom Durban July after a difficult season.
