8th – 9th April 2023

Rugby 7’s is once again at the top of the agenda in Singapore as all of the biggest names in the game converge on the principality for what promises to be another action-packed weekend of rugby. Fresh from New Zealand completing the double in Hong Kong last weekend, winning both the men’s and women’s events and they look set to be the teams to beat once more this weekend.
Elsewhere, the usual big names of Australia and South Africa will be sure to be in the mix, whilst the likes of Samoa and Fiji should provide plenty of entertainment for the fans watching in the Singapore sunshine.

Men’s Rugby Sevens Singapore 2023

Tournament Winner Odds:

Going all the way in any Sevens tournament is never an easy task, with the high octane fixtures coming thick and fast across the weekend:

New Zealand – 5/2

No side has really been able to live with New Zealand this season in the HSBC Rugby Sevens, epitomised by their superb win at the Hong Kong tournament last weekend. However, they are pooled with South Africa and Australia here in Singapore, making it a bumper packed weekend of fixtures.

South Africa – 5/1

South Africa picked up their only tournament win of the season back at the start of the year in Dubai, but they have been consistent ever since and they have some of their key players back in contention here in Singapore.

Australia – 11/2

Having won the opening event of the campaign, Australia have faded somewhat this season and are looking a little low on confidence. Playing South Africa and New Zealand in the group stages us sure to give them increased motivation here in Singapore though.

Argentina – 13/2

Currently sat in second place in the table, Argentina have enjoyed a stellar campaign and a decent looking group including the likes of Japan, Ireland and Great Britain awaits them here in Singapore this weekend.

Fiji – 8/1

The great entertainers of Fiji picked up a silver medal last time out in Hong Kong and they are capable of beating absolutely anybody on their day. Spain, Canada and Samoa wait for the Fijians in a comfortable looking opening pool.

Women’s Rugby Sevens Singapore 2023

Tournament Winner Odds:

Whilst New Zealand have dominated proceedings this season, it promises to be another exciting weekend of 7’s action in Singapore:

New Zealand – 23/20

It has been all about New Zealand this season in the women’s rugby sevens standings, with 5 event wins out of 6 so far this term. They looked in fine fettle once more last weekend as they overcame the chasing pack in Hong Kong and they should be raring to go here in Singapore.

Australia – 6/1

With their tournament win in Dubai now seeming quite a long time ago, Australia have stuck at the monumental task facing them this season with New Zealand blazing a trail. Overcoming the Kiwis will be the ultimate aim, but they need to take heart from the fact they have done it once this term.

USA – 10/1

It has been a real breakthrough season for the USA, who now find themselves battling away at the very top of the women’s rugby sevens tree. Last time out in Hong Kong was the first time this season that they haven’t finished in the top 3, something they will want to bounce back from here.

France – 14/1

Finishing second behind New Zealand at the HSBC Sydney 7’s event earlier in the season was a huge achievement for the relatively inexperienced French side. Conditions in Singapore should suit, and they will be eager to try and cause an upset again this weekend.

Great Britain – 20/1

A third place finish in Hong Kong last weekend has given the Great Britain team a serious boost ahead of this weekend in Singapore. The blend of youth and experience in the British team looks to be coming together and they can’t be completely discarded here.
