With Real Madrid comfortably booking their place in the last 8 of the Champions League, attention now turns to whether Barcelona can press home their advantage before the international break. Barca hold a 9-point lead in the La Liga table and their domestic form has been superb, whilst the likes of Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad will be keen to see any sort of slip up. Elche, Almeria, and Getafe are the three sides in the bottom three and they all need results here.

17th place in the table is not where Valencia expect to be at this stage in the season but they have time to pull away from trouble. Picking up points is key for Valencia, and they will see this one as a free hit.

European champions Real Madrid are prioritising the Champions League once again this season but they know a win here would push them back into the title race. Strangely, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have little to lose here.
