The European Tour continues with the Omega European Masters in Switzerland. The event has been a feature across European golf for over 100 years and is one of the biggest tournaments within European golf. Previous winners of the event include Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els, and Luke Donald – testament to the prestige the event is held in across golf. With 2 million euros in the prize pot too in 2021, it should be a superb weekend of golf in Switzerland.

Outright Winner
With so much at stake on the European Tour, this promises to be an excellent week of golf in Switzerland: –
Kiwi Ryan Fox has stepped up his game on the European Tour over the past few seasons and he starts this event as one of the heavy favourites here in Switzerland.
Frenchman Victor Perez is an excellent performer on the European Tour and despite no real results to speak of lately, he can always kick into gear.
Scot Richie Ramsay is another man who is often on the periphery at these events and if he can string a couple of good rounds together, he should be in the mix in Switzerland this weekend.
Scot Robert Macintyre is one of the very best ball strikers around and with him plying his trade on both the PGA and European Tours, he is one of the most exciting players in the field.
Englishman Danny Willett looks to be a far cry from the form that won him the Masters title in 2016 but in a field as open as this, he certainly has the ability to be a contender.
1st Round Leader
Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first round leader picks:-
Consistency is the game Matt Wallace deals in, and the Englishman is always a candidate to get off to a fast start, especially in favourable conditions such as these in Switzerland.
Cult hero Rory Sabbatini is very capable in any field he finds himself in and he could be one to look out for from the very start here at the Omega European Masters.
Former Ryder Cup player Andy Sullivan has shown glimpses of form recently and should he find his rhythm this weekend, he could be in contention from the off.
Top Five Finish
With so many quality players assembled here in Switzerland, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 5 come Sunday:-
Not many players have been able to match the form shown by Adri Arnaus in recent weeks on the European Tour and how he would love to register yet another top 5 finish here this week.
South African George Coetzee is more than capable of mixing it in this field and should he find his A game, he could be end up in the top 5 come Sunday afternoon.
Dutchman Joost Luiten hasn’t been able to find his best form over the past couple of seasons, but he should relish conditions such as these in Switzerland this weekend.
